Entry First snowstorm of the season!!!
Nov 06 2009 10:55

Woke up at 7:00 a.m. to about 5 cm (2") of snow. I thought it looked really pretty on the trees and grass, but hubby looked like he wanted to shoot me when I said so. It won't last. It's warming up now so a lot of it is melting. It's supposed to be 11C (51F) on Tuesday so I'll be able to pack away the patio furniture then. Should have done it sooner, but I didn't want to admit that winter was coming...right - it's Canada....we ALWAYS have winter!

So, I kept my promise - had a bowl of Special K Satisfaction with raspberries and skim milk and headed out to garage to do 45 minutes on the elliptical. I find it's easier on my legs if I do this first. Then I went in, drank about a liter of water and started up the treadmill for an hour - did the 'rolling hills' setting on level 4 at 3.9 mph. Then, I felt I should make up for what I skipped yesterday so I did another 15 minutes at 4 mph with a 2% incline. My burn meter is at 2710 and it's only 11:00 in the morning!

So I'm off to shower and then start cleaning this house...more exercise. I might have to do a bit of shoveling later on..more exercise again. After dinner we're going to go grocery shopping...more exercise still,  but I don't count stuff like that. I'm pretty happy with my 125 minutes of workout time today!

I can proudly brag that I have exercised for 510 minutes in the past 5 days - that's 8.5 hours! WOW! I'm impressed with myself!!! I plan to do this every week for all of November. The scales aren't moving much, but they will once my body figures out what I am doing to it - ha ha

I cannot tell you how impressed I am with your workouts! Not only are you doing it, you're never griping about it or slacking. You are really pushing yourself! And here you were worried you wouldn't get enough exercise without work. You are killing it! Don't worry about the scale. It will wake up soon.

I'm jealous of your snow! It's chilly in NC.. well to me. 60 degree days means I'm freezing. It doesn't snow much where I am. We get a couple of inches total each year.I'm going up to the mountains this weekend where it gets very cold at night, but no snow there yet.

Hope you have a great weekend! :)
