Entry It's November

It’s a beautiful, sunny day - warm for November. October flew by and was filled with craziness - some fun and some not so much. I have a new client, a lady in her 80's, who wants to write a book about her life. She is a hoot and a dear -- and women, young and old, would find she has a wealth of information to share about life, and family, and healthy self-respect.

I’ve had a bout of the flu, so today am taking the whole day to just be. I love these days...well, not the sick part, of course, but the feeling of my mind soaring... and my husband hates when I have them!! From the moment I’m up, I’m contemplating the what if’s – new kitchen floor; wallpaper versus paint; invite the WHOLE family for Thanksgiving; browse the ads, and then wonder which day I/we might get to browse the stores – and, the LIST goes on.

Now, I have to go back to the couch because all that mind soaring has caused brain overload. I’d love some cheesy mashed potatoes and cranberry Thanksgiving jell-o. Oh, I forgot to report that I have maintained my maintenance on my way to CC goal - lost another 1/2 pound in October.

*covers lithelady with a warm quilt done in a scattering of reds browns and orange, places a cup of hot white Asian plum tea on the table, puts a copy of An Clar Geal in the cd player, and gives her a most excellent book by Ngaio Marsh* Hope you feel better soon.

How wonderful that you have a new client! Will you be the author or the ghost?

Cheesy mashed potatoes, yum. Congrats on your progress towards your goal!

Yea! I just bought Time and Tide and An Clar Geal! Which do you have?

Thanks for the quilt, plum tea, music, reading material and well-wishes!  I am feeling a bit better this evening!  I have An Clar Geal; my car "copy" turned up unexpectedly last week, and I was in heaven!  I haven't heard Time and Tide - good?

At this point, I am neither the author nor ghost writer, more the editor.  She came to me with pages and pages (legal-sized) of hand-written stories, some taped together, some only a paragraph in length.  We spent a great deal of time just talking about how it usually isn't our children who come to us with questions about our lives, but our grandchildren - or even great grandchildren - and how often the people who can tell the stories have passed on.  She would like to share her story, because she believes that the young people of today will most definitely face some of the challenges that she did before, as she puts it, "Life became a party."  What was particularly interesting about this whole thing is that within the last several months, my husband and I were having this same discussion - at the same time as dramaqun's relative was to be interviewed about her connection with the castle people...  Life has a funny way of connecting the dots when you least expect it!

I think I mentioned somewhere that my first new clients run an ad/marketing company in my neighborhood.  I do admin for them, and I get to walk there! I wasn't sure if I would continue with this because at first it seemed to be more of a "job" than I wanted or could handle and still do what I need to do for MIL.  Turns out that, though pretty busy, it is do-able and gives me some extra mileage toward Puerto Rico!!  Enter the flu...

I didn't have cheesy mashed potatoes, but did make some homemade macaroni and cheese which turned out to be a pretty good substitute.

Thanks again, and have a good night.
