Morning everyone. This is just a drive-by hello. Started my new job Wednesday. Worked 2nd shift last 2 nights and have to be back to work at 8. Little tired but I'll make it. 4 hours sleep is enough for anyone. Interview went very well yesterday on the 3rd job possibility. Much closer to home, back doing homecare that I know and love. Little less pay, but no 2nd shift. Woohoo.

My weight today is 185#. This is so frustrating. Yesterday it was 183. I ate 1900 calories.
I haven't been exercising much, but I shouldn't be gaining on less than 2000 a day.
Starting Sunday I will deligently weigh all food, record all food and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. Will also try to limit wine to 3 glasses one day a week. We'll see.

So I have been searching anxiously to figure out the right gift for my secret santa and suddenly I realize that I haven't given any hints.
I love candles in soft food smells (Vanilla, cranberry, pumpkin, ginger) I don't care for perfummy things. I love to read, especially light romances ie: Debbie Macomber, Nora Roberts, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Susan Wiggs. I love cookbooks, especially homemade ones or church cookbooks.
Love Coffee and chocolate, the darker the better. And I love my kitties and grandchildren.
Thanks
Leslie

So, after 5 months I have accepted a position with the state of Iowa working at a facility/campus for the developmentally delayed. I have never considered this as an avenue that I would go down, however over the last 15 years I have done case management for these individuals. I think this is a great opportunity to learn. I am so excited to be working agian. Woohoo.

DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
- Cream butter, peanut butter and white and brown sugars. Mix in egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir the flour mixture into creamed mixture. Shape the dough into 48 balls, 1 inch each. Place each ball in one compartment of a mini muffin tin.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately make wells in the center of each using a melon baller. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Then carefully remove to wire racks.
- For filling, put chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a glass bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until melted. Stir in vanilla.
- Put chocolate in a large ziplock bag (to make a piping bag) cut a corner out and squeeze filling into each cookie.

So, I've had a wonderful day. I have a crockpot of pork stew cooking and have baked 4 batches of cookies. Need to get them packed up to send to my Chat friends. (I know it's suppose to be a half batch to each friend) however my husband has a rule that I can't bake while he is at work and not make enough to share with his friends at work. Or maybe it's his co-workers that have that rule. Since tomorrow is potluck day at his office, and it's cold and rainy I thought this was a perfect day to do it. I also have banana's that need to be morphed in to bread, and apples just begging to become apple crisp. Trying to decide if I still want to do those today.
I have only had 1 of each kind of cookie (quality assurance). 2 cookies isn't horrible. 1 Fudge Puddle and 1 White chocolate/cranberry cookie. Can't decide which I like best, but I'm not going to keep trying them to figure it out.
Will try to get these mailed today, so watch your mail boxes tomorrow or Saturday. :)

Today is my oldest daughter's 27th birthday. Hmm, must mean I'm getting a little older, suppose I can't claim to be 30 any longer.
Weight 180. 5 Captains and diet didn't help much last night.
Found out that I didn't get the job I wanted with Public Health :(
Muscles are really sore today, especially the hamstrings. Probably the gardening. Did work out last night, ended up with about 1200 extra calories burned yesterday. Today, just Cardio.
Tomorrow, to Des Moines, Baby E is sick again, temp 102, his daddy is taking him to the Dr now. I was going to go get him for the night tomorrow anyway and give his mommy and daddy a date night, I'll just go a lot earlier. NP.
Probably take tomorrow as a day of rest from formal exercise. It can't be a complete day of rest with a 1 year old.

Today I cleaned out the garden and flower beds, and darn it since I was having so much fun, I went over and started cleaning out my friend Jerry's flower beds. Since his wife passed away a few years ago it has gotten away from him. I didn't get them all done, but if we have another nice day or two next week maybe I can get a few more beds cleaned up. Well off to the shower, and then Core class. I may skip the cardio as I'm a little sore and tired.
Weight today 181. Still recovering from the weekend.

182. 1480 calories in yesterday, 2280 calories burned.
Elliptical, weights, class.
Picked the rest of my tomatoes yesterday. Not enough to really can, still some not quite ripe. I see BLT's in my future for another week or so. mmmmm
Still cold out today, 45 degrees out, but no wind. I may go ride my bike in a little bit.
Have a great day everyone.
