I'm cooking soup and the smell is making me soooo

but I will not indulge in any "wrong" cals until it's ready to sample. As long as I can keep my hands busy with something else, I should be OK.
I visited Dad this morning and took him the 6 photos my sis sent from Aus. He was of course very pleased, just marvelled at modern tech. Even a cellphone is a mystery to him, well he is 95. He still uses a sliderule to do most of his calculations. He does, however, know how to play his CDs, and he plays on his elec keyboard with earphones. I have some friends in their 60s who struggle to sent SMSs and have never been on the Internet. I told my boys that all I need in my old age, especially if I become bedridden, is a laptop with Internet connection.
My mom can run a computer well enough to send an email, and of course to play solitaire, but all other electronics remain a mystery to them. Every year when they come home from their winter home in Florida they call my husband to set up their T.V. He had to label all the buttons on the remote, so they would stop pushing all the buttons when something went wrong. The only reason they own a DVD player is so they can play my brother Ron's home movies! |
