Okay, so last weekend was the first weekend that I encountered on my new lifestyle. Let me just say, it definitely wasn't my proudest moment! Unfortunately, this was also the first weekend IN FIVE YEARS that I spent husband- and kid-less. Of course, all of my friends felt they had to take me out, and I am sad to say, I went willingly. One thing this website has taught me is that it is very important is to be prepared when you are going somewhere so you know what foods and how much you can take in. I decided to let go of my need for "girly drinks" for the night and opted for a much lower calorie, much less tasty drink: Bud Light. I had probably 7 or 8, which alone was probably my allotted calorie intake for the day. On Saturday, I ate a lot of bread to soak up the alcohol that was in my stomach, including a 12 inch turkey hoagie. By Sunday, I was feeling so terrible that I had been so bad the past couple of days that I convinced myself that I might as well fall back into my old lifestyle again. It took my until yesterday, Tuesday, to actually get back on track. Although I lost one pound this past week, I now realize that I could have lost much more than that! So today, I remade my start and am promising myself to stay away from alcohol and, if I happen to get off track again, jump right back on the bandwagon...I am writing this in my journal for future reference, and hopefully it will remind me to JUST SAY NO!!!
Good job! Stay away from that stuff, and if you mess up, just remember tomorrows another day to start over. |
