17 weeks pregnant today! Time really does fly! And the tales are true- the second trimester does feel wonderful. I am sleeping well, eating well, and have enough energy to exercise an hour each day. I am also feeling really happy and excited and so much in love with my husband in a different kind of way. I am looking forwad to being a parent with him. He is great with babies and children. I have less experience with kids, but I am sure I will learn on the job!
Eating has been pretty good. I am once again eating pretty healthy, and the wild cravings have kind of eased off. Exercise wise, I have eased off on the gym, and am mostly enjoying the last of the beautiful fall weather by walking outdoors. When it gets colder, I will move back to the gym, but for now, this is fine.
I also cant believe that its nearly the end of the school semester. Teaching has gotten a whole lot easier over the course of the semester. I still think I could be a lot better with more practice, but I think I am doing fine for now. Its hard to believe how stressed out I was at first. They offered me another semester, but the baby will be born right in the middle of the semester, so I had to tell them that I wouldnt be able to complete it.
Hubby and I will be away in India from just before Christmas to the third week of January. Its been a year since he saw his parents, and a year since I went home. Theres also a big Indian weddding (my cousin) during our vacation- so we are going to have a blast! The one thing I am NOT looking forward to is the inevitable do's and dont's we will get from assorted aunts and uncles who have their own ideas on what pregnant women should or should not do. Most importantly for me, I am a llittle afraid because a lot of Indians (especially my in-laws) believe that if you are pregnant, you shouldnt exert yourself. I dont ever overdo the exercise, but being fit and active is SO important for my wellbeing. Will have to figure how to work around that one.
ah yes, beware the Well Meaning! That does not include your CC friends, though! LOL! Enjoy that second trimester like crazy, it goes by even faster than the first because it's more fun! Do you feel the baby moving yet? I can't remember when that happened. |
Its GREAT that hubby loves kids... you are a NATURAL mom... we can all tell that just by your loving and caring comments on this site... SO happy for you!!!!! OH, by the way, can STOW away with you for your INDIAN holiday? xoxoxox Bonnie B M |
I am so glad you're feeling well, you sound really upbeat, too! |
Ahhh, what a sweet journal entry. The second trimester is by far the most relaxing and best feeling part of pregnancy (at least it was for me). I'm glad that you have a supportive, loving husband. You will both be great parents Enjoy your trip to India, just remember that any comments made are just out of caring and smile and thank them, doesn't mean you have to follow what they say. I was still active during my pregnancy, my ex (baby's dad), acted like I wasn't even pregnant and still expected me to do all kinds of things (ex. help him move the couch). He wasn't the most nurturing during that time...part of the reason he is now an ex! |
im so pleased everything is going well for you , im so excited for you new arrival h x |
I am so excited for you too. I can also tell that you will be a great, natural mother. So much kindness and wisdom. I always appreciate your responses <3

Congrats! I am so excited for you... You are almost exactly 6 weeks ahead of me and it has been so interesting following how things have been for you. What part of India will you be travelling to? I am so jealous, I love India and can't wait to go back some day. Oh and to counteract all that "advice" I recently read this article and thought of you: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2007/may/29/health.medicin eandhealth It has a very refreshing perspective on all that advice we get. |
Thanks! Meryl- we will be in Bombay and Madras- I am from Bombay (Mumbai) and my hubby is from Madras (Chennai). Very excited! |
