Entry big pile of dirt
Nov 11 2009 18:36

Today was a pretty good day. I straightened up the house, well, the first floor anyway. I made the kids help in the basement. I don't really know if they cleaned down there or not but they were down there for awhile. Plus, I just stuck the dirty clothes basket from their rooms into the washer so if I actually fold it tonight I'll be caught up with their laundry. My laundry is another story. It feels good to look around and see just a little bit of clutter. Well, a little for us anyways.

I need to wash the kitchen floor but we have a big pile of dirt sitting at the end of our driveway. What does one have to do with the other? Good question. Let me explain it in one word: kids. From the second that dirt was delivered (we need to fix the huge sink hole in our front yard) a couple of dump trucks, little shovels, buckets, toy snakes, lizards, frogs, My Little Ponies and dirty socks instantaneously appeared on top of it. I have swept my floor about three million times since saturday morning. I'm just not going to bother washing it until this weekend when my husband can finish up with the hole and use up all the dirt.

On another note, I am afraid that I am not losing weight this week. I keep stepping on the scale and not seeing it move. Worse yet, it looks like it might have moved one or two notched in the WRONG direction. Sucks because I am working out more. Maybe I need to eat a little more. We'll see. I know that I am fifteen pounds closer to my goal, but it just sucks that it has to take so long. I just keep telling myself that by my birthday in July I should be somewhat near my goal. That would mean that I need to lose thirty more pounds in the next eight months. I hope I can do it.

I need to tidy my home.  It seems like it just keeps getting away from me.  And I swear to Dog that the dishes breed and multiply in the sink overnight.  Like sadistic little Corningware bunnies.  Anyways, don't be surprised or too upset if your weightloss slows.  As you get closer to your ideal weight, your body starts to put up a fight...it doesn't want to let go of the fat.  Keep plugging away, girl.  It's happening.

Just keep that snowball rolling!

And I hear you on the floor - I get so discouraged about mopping it, because the instant it dries and they are allowed to walk on it again, they have a snack or a meal and it is sticky-yucky again.

Chuckisms always make me smile!

One of my favorites: They once made a Chuck Norris toilet paper, but it wouldn't take sh** from anybody.

The problem is that I am nowhere near my goal weight. I've got 30-35 pounds to go. I don't think I should be slowing down the weight loss quite yet:(

It's not unusual for someone to plateau multiple times during their weightloss journey.  I was stuck at the same weight for about three months.  It just takes time to convince your body that, hey, there's no famine and I'm not starving.  You could try adding an extra 15 minutes to your workouts, or upping your calories by 100-200.  You gotta shake it up, once in a while. :)

wash the kitchen floor? I've heard of that.

My floor gets washed when the kids spill the cat's water and then they step in it, soaking their socks and proceed to run all over the house. I'm tempted to pour a lid's worth of laundry detergent on there when it happens.
