Bravo

Today, we went out for lunch. I had a salad with chicken and pecans and apples and dried cranberries. I was SURROUNDED by fries and greasy sandwiches with cheese piled miles high. I am so proud that I had the resolve to stick with my plan. I checked the menu before hand and chose a few lower cal options but I've done this before and have always been tempted to order what someone else is having because it sounds too good to pass up. Hopefully this good behaviour will show on the scale on Saturday.

Step class

Went to my first step class today..WOW...or maybe more like OWW! I am going to hurt tomorrow! I feel so good now though, that was quite an accomplishment for me. Good stress releaver too. I managed to get to yoga on Tuesday also. I'm hoping to hit both classes each week. I'm finding it so much more enjoyable than hitting the treadmills and weight machines at the gym although I may still do some strength training on Sunday.

Big loss this week, almost 4 lbs. Not sure what i did differently this week from last week when I gained a little over a pound. I know I didn't eat well, didn't make the proper choices (burger and fries, really). Hopefully will have a good week again this week. Not sure though because of the large family meals this weekend. I just have to focus on putting the right foods on my plate.

gain?

Okay, not official weigh in day but I seem to have gained a pound and a bit since my last weigh in. I've been pretty good, sure, I ate out last night but the calories I've burned at thegym have definitely made up for it. I have a digital scale at home and am thinking i should start weighing at the gym on the slide scale (don't know what they're called, same as the ones in the doctors office). I think it might be more accurate, a little more consistant anyhow. we'll see how I did on official weigh in day 2 days from now. I can do this.

loss

Okay, I weighed myself for the first time in a week and a half. That was when I realized me gain of 2-3 lbs after having been away for a week and a half. Happy to say that I all the weight I gained when I was away plus 1.2 lbs! Although it set me back a week, I didn't lose sight of my end goal and got back on the wagon. I didn't increase excercise in the past week, I joined the gym but my ankle is still sore, maybe this weekend (long weekend, maybe the gym will be emptier??). The 7 hours painting over the weekend might have helped some though! I think I've had a good week, only ate over allocated calories once and even then kept it under what was burned. I've been following CC for a month now, and although I was hoping to have lost 10 lbs, I'm doing not to bad at 7 lbs when you take into consideration my gain in one week. Slow and steady....

darn that snow!

I got a membership to a gym on Wednesday. I was looking forward, quite nervously, to my first visit tonight. I was gonna come home, have my dinner and head to the gym an hour later. I finished dinner, changed and walked out the door. As i was walking to my car, sure enough, i twist my ankle and fall to the ground. Don't worry, I'm fine, but thought it was wise to turn around and head back into the house. I did do some excercises on my ball and with my tension band but how frustrating! I likely won't be going tomorrow like I'd hoped either but I am planning on painting so will hopefully burn some calories that way! No walk tomorrow either because it is supposed to be as cold here as hell is hot (again with the windchills in -50F mark!). I'll be good and loopy from the fumes by the time I get back to work on Monday!! Who knows, maybe I'll go do some strength training at the gym or hit the pool.

i was away for 9 days and gained 2 lbs!! i wasn't very good with choosing my foods. I didn't eat breakfast for 5 days for sure, maybe more. I'm dissapointed in myself. I feel like I'm losing focus already. Need to stop pouting, suck it up, and focus. It's not gonna be easy.

that magic spot on the bathroom floor

Okay, I ate fewer calories today than I'm supposed to (no worries, still over 1200). I know they weren't the wisest choice of calories and I forgot to take my vitamin. Probably somewhat lacking in my nutrients overall today. I was nervous being away on business, how I would handle eating out. Sushi tonight was a good choice. HOWEVER, I got back to my aunts (away on business doesn't necessarily mean your without the comforts of home!) and weighed myself. I am a pound and a half heavier today than I was on Friday. Is this really because I'm in a different city or am I just making up excuses?? I know in my own bathroom, the scale reads differently if I put it down in different spots. Same here, moved the scale to a different floor position and all of a sudden I'm 2 lbs heavier!?!? What gives? Is everyone's bathroom like this? It has a magic spot where you weigh a pound or two lighter?? Anyhow, I don't know if I shouldn't weigh myself until I get back to my place or keep weighing myself, gauge the weight against what I saw tonight but not record anything until i get home on my own scale (placed exactly where I have placed the tape down, don't laugh, I have actually done this).

Idea of walking a half hour every day has not worked out so well so far this week. Although, there are stairs at head office which I did quite a few of (none at the office at home), I walked briskly to go get lunch today and do some window shopping (at home I work in the country so there is NOWHERE to go/walk to) and we walked to the restaurant from the office for dinner (7 blocks?). So, I guess even though I didn't do 30 mins of "excercise", I still got more activity that usual. Again, am I making excuses and justifying my poor eating choices today??

week 2

Down 2 lbs today. Feeling........okay about this. I think I was spoiled last week with an almost 4 lb loss. Considering all the eating out I've done this week, 2 lbs is probably great, but why am I not feeling that? I have a lot on the go, should be packing right now to catch that 5:40am flight, maybe that's distracting me? This week was abnormal with activities, concert, last christmas party, vice president of mktg in so dinner out, office met a goal so we ordered in lunch (subway, I did okay). But then all my weeks are abnormal, next week in head office, lunches and dinners out, hockey game Friday night (how will I resist the beer and smokie on a bun??). How is everyone else handling eating out? There has to be something I'm not doing. I log well, down to how many slices of tomatoes i had on my sub today. I need to increase my activity for sure. Will find it hard to get into a routine in a funk like this. Does anyone else find it easier if they have a workout buddy? Okay, start small, a half hour walk everyday. That will be my goal for this coming week.
