To make up for the lack of info on Japanese food here, I bought two little pocket books today.
One has mainly ingredients along with some meals and set menus. The other focuses on "eating out" foods and how you can work them into a fixed-calorie day.
I can see that both of these are going to be very handy. I picked them up at a random bookstore; I imagine they are pretty much everywhere if you want to get one for yourself. (Or you can just ask me)
P.S. Tod's here, too, counting calories and learning about his diet. I gave him one of the calorie books and he's sitting at his desk now saying things like "Gyoza aren't so bad. Harumaki is a lot worse. Oooh, ramen is bad. Some ramen is much worse than others..."
