I have somewhat of a more positive attitude this morning, but I wouldn't say my usual self. I have a strong sense that a lot of this is based on the season and time changing, some weird hormonal/menopausal changes, and maybe even the fact that I just started a new workout routine, which often makes me hungry. I was trying to pick through it all mentally last night and there is a lot of just wanting to eat because it's pleasurable, and for whatever reason, nothing else seems to be. (Which isn't really my normal attitude.) I think I just have to wait it out and also make sure to get outside tomorrow. I've been stuck in this office without getting out and about much.
My weight is up 3.2 lbs from two days ago - not eating over maintenance (though I want to), so that just is another pointer to hormones and water retention. Yeah, the scale just wants to mess with me too, perhaps I'll have to threaten it with another disembowelment to get it to cooperate.
On a very positive note: I kicked some major butt this morning on my weights workout. Whoo, lifted 135 lb deadlift and 155 rack deadlift. That's not bad for a start - the last time I did one of these Strength programs, I got up to 165 lb deadlift, and I want to get there again, and I'm pretty sure I can, if this is my starting point. I guess I didn't lose as much strength as I thought I had with the surgery.
Gratitude of the Day: I am grateful for the extravagant tail fur of the gray squirrels rascalling around the oak trees.
I am speechless on your strength. Wow! You are something else. Way to go. |
WOW I've been lifting for about 5 years and am nowhere near as strong as you!! Way to go The day after I lift I am usually hungry all day....what's up with that?? Sounds like it is happening to you too |
I have the hungries too. And not doing as good of a job resisting. Also feel out of sorts. Must be the time change/ season change thing. I am so impressed that you are lifting with such great strength so soon after your surgery. It's truly awesome, I hope you are proud! Maybe someday I too will deadlift! |
Holy cow, that's like...you could pick me up! Heck, you could carry Sam up the stairs, not just hoist him. Those numbers just boggle my mind. I used to kick my old scale around once in a while, but the new one cost too much, so I just curse a lot, which has been proven to be good for you, so that's a good thing, at least. |
Whoo hoo! You are awesome - you'll get your goal! |
