New....Got to get in shape!!!

Well....I am 23 years old. I,m 5 ft. 6 in. and weigh between 157 (I'm not quite sure since the holidays...I haven't been on a scale). I consider myself a busy person...I work overnight, I'm finishing the last semester of college (yay! I graduate on Dec 13th), and I'm trying to start back working out steadily. I'm inactive service (Go Navy!) and I'm getting prepared for boot camp in March. My highest weight this year was 171 so I have lost as much as 14 to 15 lbs this year, by exercising moderately, altering what I eat, and drinking more water (but slacking lately). I really want to get down to at least 150 by march (145, would be nicer).

I would like to get advice on strength and weight training since my pushups suck! I hope I can find much advice on eating healthy and watching what I eat without feeling like I'm depriving myself. I have always been a person that loves to eat good (southern home-cooked food is the best)! I have always been a pretty active person with a disaster inactive period of 2 yrs. that has gotten me where I am now (157 somewhat lazy and needing a but kicking in the gym).

Any motivation and Advice I can get would help greatly!!!!
