HOW DO I GET MY MOTIVATION BACK?!?!

I had such dedication when I first started calorie count back in 2007.  I had lost a total of 50 pounds (which I have kept off until now) I have started gaining again!!  11 pounds since August 13th.  I was down to 183 today I weighed in at 194.

I need help!!  What can I do to get back on track?!?!  I really want to be healthy.  I want my kids to be healthy.  And if they see mom eating the icecream, candies, and fast food they are gonna do it too!!

I need some motivation.  I have told myself if I get back on track I can buy certain things or do certain things but that doesn't motivate me.  Maybe I need to write down why I want to be healthy.  Why and how it effects my children.  They mean the world to me....and I know what it was like to be the fat kid in class that always got picked on.  I do not want that for them!!

Melissa - you have had a pretty challenging year so give yourself a pat on the back for not putting on MORE than that 11lbs!  Now having said that - the focus is on being healthy... what do the kids like to do for fun (I know they are still pretty little) but - do they enjoy the park or going for walks or skating?  I am trying to regain my motivation too and I started taking the 4yr old to the park - he loves to walk there so sometimes I piggy back him on the way back and we jog which is more like fast walking for me there.

As for changes to your diet, make those small too - invest in some skinny cow ice cream, so you don't feel deprived, and ration everyone out a piece of candy - you tell them they can't have 5 pieces of candy because it isn't good for them and then follow your own rules.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!! YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW AND THAT IS THE HARD PART.

I also have to say congrats for making it through a tough year!  I sometimes have to remind myself that small steps can be counted as a success!  Today, I started to try something different.  I woke up, did 10 min of stretching and speaking my mantra out loud.  I'm trying to tell myself to love myself for who I am and I do not need food to be happy.

I'm not sure if this will help me or not, but I figure, most of us and constantly beating ourselves up in negative ways, so why not try positive reinforcement?

ANyways, good luck and I know you can do it!  Just take it one day at a time!

I know exactly how you feel.  I often found myself in your position asking what happened to the old me that lost all the weight.

You have to make the choice to be healthy no matter what.  Don't buy any junk what-so-ever.  I found the best thing for me is to go shoppong by myself that way I dont have kids begging for those snacks.  By doing this I actually saved money and got the kids off the junk too.

You can do this girl, I know you can!!

Thank you, thank you.  It has been a rough year.  But you know what I am still standing!!  (Thank you God!!)

I am going to start doing more things with my little ones!  I have decided that we will play no matter how tired mama is. If it is cold then we will play inside if it is nice we will go outside.  I will not be able to come home and put on my comfy clothes.  I will get dressed in normal clothes i.e. jeans and a nicer shirt.  I will only be allowed to change if I am going to work out.

I need to relearn how to eat slowly and measure my portions.  This is something that I did before and it really helped.

I think I might have found my wagon.  I just need to jump on and hang on for dear life!!

I totally fell off the wagon too!!!  I've gained 10 lbs and I am totally feeling yuck and trying to get my motivation back.  I've started going back to old habits from years ago.  It is like starting over even though it is 10 lbs.
