Singapore was great. This was my fifth trip there so it wasn't exciting so much as relaxing, but it was really cool to be able to show Mac around my favourite places... We went to the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel (an old colonial haunt for around 130 years), the Mint Toys museum, and the botanical gardens. We walked around the waterfront, wandered around the markets in Chinatown, did some shopping on Orchard Road, and ate lots of local food and drinks...

It was just nice to have time with Mac as much as anything else. He works six days a week here so to have three days together was a treat. We went out for a really nice dinner on the last night at a French place called Au Petit Salut (a little hello). We sat outside on the balcony and a little frog made wap-wap-wap noises in the garden nearby every now and then, it was pretty amusing. Laughing

We are thinking about moving to Singapore next year. I'm not sure if I want that or not. It would be a lot easier in some ways (the salary packages for expats in Singapore are usually very good, and nearly always better than NZ salaries) but it might be hard to spend another year far from family and friends when we have a new baby. What ends up happening will probably just depend on what country he gets job offers in.

I still haven't heard back from my sister about why she's mad with me, but to be honest I can't be bothered pursuing it right now. I'm just going to wait a while and hopefully she will simmer down and realise that I haven't done anything to spite her. I don't really have the energy to chase her down right now, so I'll just leave it be.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Smile

Welcome back!

Glad you had a nice trip with Mac. It's good to get away for a few days.

Food looks great! Are you feeling better?

Awww, I'm glad you got to spend some time with your sweetie!  That's great!

I'm glad you aren't wasting much time and energy on your sister's bitterness.  It is obviously her problem that she will have to work through, also need to remember that she has raging hormones right now too.  I always felt just a little bit crazy when I was pregnant....and irrational!

Thanks everyone. And oi, sharpshootinstar, come back with that pineapple! Laughing

I am still feeling queasy but haven't been sick in a while (touch wood) so am feeling better than I was before. I think the sickness is gradually easing, I hope to be feeling back to normal in a few weeks! :)

Templeton - yeah, I have better things to think about right now to be honest. I think she might come round given a little time, but if we have the issue out right now we'll probably just wind each other up even more.
