ETA: it's 10.20pm but I'm getting pretty hungry. Think a sandwich is in order.
Hmm, probably could have done with more calcium today. Oh well, it was a healthy and happy day food-wise aside from that. The new German beer garden that has opened near us has the best baguettes and sandwiches ever, I don't know what it is that makes them so good but they are worth paying for because I know I couldn't make them as good at home!
I went clothes shopping today and bought a few t-shirts and a smarter top to wear over dresses when I go out. I always do this; leave buying new clothes until the last minute when everything is worn out and then needs replacing in one go. But seeing as I tend to replace things in one go, they all wear out at the same time all over again! Oh well. It felt GOOD to buy stuff! I think I still have a good while before I outgrow all my clothes - fingers crossed anyway.
Mac and I talked baby names last night and oh dear, we don't seem to agree on anything! I like unusual names whereas he wants to use family names (Hugh and William, I'm not keen on either) or Scottish names. The Scottish name idea seems the most hopeful to me as there are lots of quirky and unusual names of Scottish origin out there that he might like - I am compiling a list of them tonight as my previous list has been thoroughly dismissed!
how sweet, he loves the Bean already and is possessive of him/her! I believe we had quite a number of conflicting lists right up until they were born. It's a lot of fun, so enjoy the name search! There are some awesome Scottish names. I think one of my faves for a girl might be Welsh though - Bronwen. Also love Rhys. Found them in a cozy mystery book! The food all sounded wonderful. Bread making is an art, enjoy those sandwiches! |
your menus always look lovely. oh names , i have to say i like traditional names my faves are millie, georgia, katelyn, charlotte. bethany . for boys alfie, james , jack , dale . im sure youll agree on something after all it cant be called bean forever:). hope you have a grt evening h x |
why not? That's perfect! Bronwen Bean Child of Meryl. You can call her BB for short! |
Haha, actually as it happens Bean is actually an obscure Scottish name, I found it in one of the name guides online! No way my bebbe is being called Bean after it's born though lol. Jannid - I like Bronwyn and Rhys however I have a friend called Bronwyn and one of Mac's best friends is called Rhys so sadly they are both out for us! Helen - I like Georgia and Alfie, both really sweet names. Have a list of about 15 Scottish names I am going to try out on MacLean tonight - will report back on the verdict later. |
LOL! Be prepared to be patient regarding the naming of your miracle bean. Most folks I know don't even settle on the name until the child has been delivered and is settled in Mother's arms :) |
Ahhh, baby names. Of course Troy's father and I did not agree on any. We did agree on a girl's name (Cheyanne) but of course we had a boy. I liked the name Brody or Ethan and he of course didn't like either. We had actually agreed on Brody but his mom didn't like it so we went with Troy, not even really sure how we came up with it. I'm more like you and enjoy unusual names, probably because my mom was like that. I have two brothers...Gabriel and Josiah...then of course my name is Adrianna. I like all of our names. So you know you could always name your bean Adrianna if it's a girl, I would be honored |
rather like A Boy Named Sue! |
Oh dear - yes I also associate Ariel with being a girl's name. I know a man named Allison, apparently the two l's makes it a male version of the name but come on, we all know Alison is a girl's name really! I actually do really like your name Adrianna, and I like Rhiannon too. I have a sneaky feeling this one is a boy but hey you never know, maybe I will be proven wrong. |
Must add, all my Scottish name suggestions have been rejected too. I think I'll just keep my eyes open for new names but give the subject a rest with M for a month or so. We still have loads of time to decide at least... and looks like we'll need it. |
I know, my poor little nephew You just might be proven wrong. I was certain I was having a girl but turned out he had a dink! Yep, just keep your eyes open, something will come along that you both agree on. It will also be easier when you know if you are looking for a boy name or a girl name too....that is if you decide to find out. |
