			<title>The nasty cigs have got to go</title>

			<description>&lt;p&gt;Saturday the 18th.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The week went okay except for the smoking.&amp;nbsp; The weekend was typically a heavy beer drinking time and last night was kind of tough.&amp;nbsp; I am determined to give up the cigs but allowing myself a little &quot;adjustment&quot; time while I concentrate on NO BEER.&amp;nbsp; I did decide I would give myself a break and have beer on Sundays with football but only if i've had a good week and exercised at least once a day Mon-Fri.&amp;nbsp; So far this week I qualify and maybe this will be incentive to stick with it.&amp;nbsp; 1 more week with the cigs.&amp;nbsp; A week from Monday...my re-quit day!&lt;/p&gt;

			<title>The first day of the rest of my life</title>

			<description>&lt;p&gt;Okay...today is the day.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The rest of my life&amp;nbsp;begins on October 13th, 2008.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Back in about 1992 or 1993 I did Atkins and exercised.&amp;nbsp; My efforts resulted in me dropping down to about 170 pounds or so.&amp;nbsp; I was so very unhappy with&amp;nbsp;that weight but I would love to weigh that now.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I did begin exercising pretty consistently&amp;nbsp;about 2 years ago.&amp;nbsp; I have lost about 20 to 30lbs and waivered between.&amp;nbsp; Right now I am at 20lbs down from my heaviest weight back in 2006.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I have gained about 10lbs in the last 6 weeks, resulting from not exercising since vacation the 1st week of September and being off track for 2 additional business trips since vacation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Obviously I need to really alter my eating to go with that, but I think it is the beer (Budlight lime..yum) more than anything that stalls my progress.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the first time I am endeavoring to leave the bad habits, smoking and drinking, behind.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I quit smoking last year in August but started again about 2 weeks ago.&amp;nbsp; I bought 3 packs in those 2 weeks (I was a pack a day smoker prior to August 2007).&amp;nbsp; After just a couple of days of smoking a few a day&amp;nbsp;I had a productive cough, a sore throat and other cold like symptoms.&amp;nbsp; No way the cause was anything but smoking...right?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So...time to stop killing myself.&amp;nbsp; I start today.&lt;/p&gt;
