I have been doing well as far as calorie consumption goes but I am kinda getting burnt out on the same things. I eat strawberry and cream oatmeal (2 cups) for breakfast. I eat 2 turkey and cheese sandwiches on whole wheat for lunch and then half of a rotisserie chicken for dinner. I sometimes swap out lunch and dinner meals to break it up a bit. I eat grapes for snacks. I usually end up around 1300-1600 calories. I drink a lot of water. I am not exercising very much yet. My gameplan is to lose until I hit a wall and then bust out the exercise to break through. I dont know if that will work or not but we will see : ) Any ideas for quick and easy meals on the go?
I can understand burn out and it comes from eating the same thing day after day. Also you may need to eat more calories than you are now. I think when you eat the same thing and aren't eating enough that leads to overeating. Maybe check with your doctor or a dietician and find out from them just how many calories you can eat and still lose weight safely. For Breakfast: During the week I'll have a sandwich. When I get tired of that I'll find something else to enjoy. One day a week I have a chicken biscuit from the lunchroom. Other good breakfast ideas are lf turkey sausage, and a blueberry pancake. I buy the frozen ones at Wal-Mart and they're good. I sometimes drink a meal replace ment drink for breakfast. I use glucerna because I'm a diabetic. There are other good meal replacement drinks out there. An egg scrambled with pam along with a bowl of cereal or toast is good. And then there's non-traditional breakfast food. You can have just about anything you please and it really breaks up the boredom of the same ole same ole. On Weekends: i like to enjoy a cup of coffee and something different. today it was a biscuit with a poached egg and 2% cheese. Sometimes I'll have grits and an egg with bacon bits. An omelet made at home is always yummy too.
For Lunch: At this time I'm eating lunchroom food but in the past I have taken my lunch. So speaking from the past some good lunch ideas are: Leftovers from supper. Salad but make sure you have protein with that and a lf salad dressing helps too. Since you are a man and have an active job I'd suggest getting in some carb with that salad. Wendy's chili makes a good lunch. A sandwich lunch can be good. Baby carrots with lf salad dressing is yummy too. Since you make your lunch at home you have control at what goes into it. Baked chips or 100 cal snacks are always good to include in a sandwich lunch. I think at your supper you probably need to add some veggies and some carbhydrates. Best of luck with you weight loss. |
For breakfast I have been eating Quaker oats plain with a cut up banana... delish and easy. There are a bunch of recipes on here also ... I have been sifting threw those and found some lo-cal muffins and such that turned out really good (ie banana nut with apple sauce) I don't know if you like to cook or not but I have lots of recipes for mixing it up on the chicken. Even just baking it with some Chipolte pepper seasoning (spicy!) for a different flavor and add some broccoli. I am all about the taste!! Let me know if you want some recipie ideas. I constantly am trying new healthy ones. |
