Downtown boston is like a ghost town this morning! I like wed, no class tonight. Yesterday was good though I got out of class 20 min early so I had some time to do 30 min of intense cardio before my 75 min yoga class. Yoga freakin drained me, I was so tired after! I finally did a headstand in class too, it felt so awesome. I have done it on my own out of class but never in class before. The instructor knows i have been trying to do one so she came up to me after to say congrats and give me a few more pointers, yay. After work I'll probly do back/chest and some cardio in the spin room. My legs are still sore from monday's workout.
Amy asked me to go to the BC law soccer game tonight but.. I reeaaallly don't want to, Mark is on the team and I don't want him to think I went to go see him, lol. I'll probly not go. I need to straighten my hair anyways, I'm getting it done on Friday (I have curlyish hair so it stays straight for like 3-4 days if I blow dry it out well).
the PLAN! :)
bfast - eggwhites, smoked salmon, fat free cheese (265)
snack - zone bar (200)
lunch - brought tuna fish and cottage cheese - (240 cals)
pre workout - fruit and greek yogurt probly (300 cals)
after workout - probly another protein bar because I have no food and need to go shopping (200)
dinner - roasted butternut squash, broccoli and tofu (300)
Because I'm doing and externship I don't have finals this semester, which is amazing. I have two term papers to write but I don't need to stay here to do it so I think I am going to go home for three weeks or so (most of Dec) and then come back here for new years. I mostly want to save some money, plus it will be relaxing and nice to be home. 1L year I joined my Mom's gym for a month while I was home so if I can do that again I will be all set :) My mom just found out she is diabetic. She is overweight and has been for years. I know sooooo much about diet and weight loss I always want to help her out because she is always unsuccessfully trying to lose weight but I don't want to hurt her feelings either, idk its werid. Anyways she is on weight watchers now and has been asking me all this diet advice so hopefully I can help her out a little while I am home. AND hopefully this means she won't be baking up a storm of hoiday treats and tempting me! lol
I know salmon is good for you...but I just can't take the strong taste of it. Bleh. My mom is diabetic as well. It sucks to find it out, but that is one of my inspirations to stay healthy. Runs strong in my family. Hopefully she listens to you now...as she does not have as much of a choice. |
i hope you can help your mom morgan! i've definitely taken after my dad when it comes to that stuff. my mom has always eaten like a bird, doesn't get very excited for food, and has always worked out 5 days a week (she does aerobics and yoga videos in the mornings). unfortunately her love for working out hasn't worn off on me...and my dad's love for food has! and yeah the T was so roomy this morning. having a seat the whole way from Quincy made up slightly for the suckiness that is having to work today. |
aww hopefully when you go home you can help your mom out alot. Maybe offer to cook a majority of the time while your there and see if it can rub off on her. Take walks together too. I tried to get my mom to do that stuff w. me a while ago but I gave up. congrats on the headstand! |
your workouts are so inspiring esp with ur busy schedule! I think i'm taking on ur one day at a time approach and just livin it. Sorry to hear about ur mom, hope this is a mixed blessing and it turns her to much healthier habits which are better for her in the long run. |
since your mom is on weight watchers now maybe a good way to give her some advice without offending her would be directing her to this site as a free alternative...logging cals doesn't seem much different from logging points. dunno much about ww though. you wouldn't have to tell her your s/n or anything if that'd be too weird but it could open up a discussion on what you do to stay healthy. also- i'm mad jealous you don't have finals!!

i hope you have a great time with your mom! :D yeah, you can teach her alot, i'm sure! that'll be great to save some money, too. |
Oh, going home during the holidays is so nice! I hope you are able to help your mom, but even if not she will prob be keepiing better/less tempting foods in the house. eats look good, as per usual. I wouldn't go to the game either, the Mark thing would bother me. |
