Thinking about it

Hi Y'all,

I'm thinking about logging again. Something has to happen. I've fallen so far off the track here. Not sure if I'll have time to post so often though as I have become involved with a few projects and really need to focus. But I miss my buddies so I thought I'd pop by and post a quick Hallo!

Hope you all are doing well!

What happens when no one is watching

Hi ya'll

My hubby ran across this article from Prevention Magazine on MSN

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31766160/ns/health-food_safety

The government is not looking out for our best interests anymore.

Sorry . I try to be chipper most days but there's nothing to be cheery about from what I read on that link.

Tuesday... I'm screwing off

BEFORE AFTER

THE VIEW FROM MY OFFICE WINDOW

I thought I'd share the before and after photos of Ralphy's haircut. He looks like a fluff monster before the cut and now he's just so handsome. The last picture is the view outside my office window... it's very pretty but very cold outside.

Today I have an appointment with a new client who own a vintage clothing store. They are members of my church and very nice people. I'm looking forward to working with them. I ran in to the car dealer at the grocery store this weekend and he said he was mailing back my contract. So I guess I'm going to be pretty busy for the next month. I am thankful for the work.

Yesterday I did the Firm kettlebell workout... today I think I will do a dance workout or maybe turbo jam. I ordered some new Tae Bo videos ... if those come I might try those ... I dunno... but I am determined to stay on track with the workouts.

Happy Tuesday!

On The A List

I'm pretty happy... my boarding pass number is A-19 that means I am at the front of the line and will be able to pick a good seat. I'm debating on sitting up front again. While there might not be a place to put my carry-on there is plenty of leg room, first dibs on the lavatory and first off the plane... yeah... unless some little kids are sitting there I think I want to sit up front.

I'm listening to jazz bossa nova - chilling out to Stan Getz - life it good.

Oh so much to do... so little time. The pre-trip anticipation has come to the height of excitement. I am going to make sure though that I get a good workout in so I am thoroughly tired and am able to fall asleep because I have to getup at 3:45AM tomorrow. The shuttle is coming to get me at 4:30 AM

Yesterday I did three 10 minute kettle bell workouts with my daughter. It kicked her butt. It actually was more of a cardio workout for me. I think I'm ready to switch up to a heavier weight on this when I return.

I'm going to make a big pot of vegan chili for hubby. And I've cooked a few meals this week so there are plenty of other left overs for him.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK & WEEKEND! Tammy and I will have a little celebratory toast in all your honor... maybe at the piano bar at the NY NY hotel... or perhaps at the Fontana lounge at the Bellagio while we listen to live music and watch the fountain explode. No wait! We should do a shot for you guys at the Tropricana Comedy Stop.... or perhaps blow a kiss in your favor at the female impersonators at the Riviera. Wish you were there already

Calorie Restriction... what is it

I ordered two books on Calorie Restriction from Amazon. Calorie Restriction is eating less calories to improve your health and lengthen your life span. I was interested in reading the medical evidence that supports this claim. So I got the books. We do this anyways when we try to lose weight so I wanted to know the long term effect of trying to eat less then your body really needs.

Yesterday's logging went OK. I did eat a little more and had some cashew butter on an apple. So I thought today I would increase the calories a little since I do workout.

I'm looking forward to today's video. It's the Firm Kettlebell workout. It's kick ass.

I have to go to the Dr today because I think I have a UTI. It's such a waste of time. I just wish they would prescribe the stupid pills over the phone and if I don't get better I'll come in. errr... but I will make the most out of the trip and hit the grocery store on the way back. We're getting another big storm tomorrow. They are now saying up to a foot where I live.

EIGHT DAYS TIL VEGAS!

B: oatmeal, apple, banana,
L: salad, cauliflower, uncheez sauce
S: apple
D: salad, zucchini, uncheez sauce
S: pita bread, cream cheese, cinnamon
M: tea, soymilk,gum

KEFIR

Kefir page is here:

http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefir-faq.html

It's kind of like the probiotics in yogurt but some swear it's
better. I'm just happy to be able to make something at home. The Kefir
grains look like little cauliflower florets... kind of like cottage
cheese. I rinse them out and put them in a jar with milk today so they
could get their enzymes and bacteria growing and then tonight I will
put them in with the soy milk stuff. Which by the way was awesome.

The soy milk is less tart then regular milk.

I ordered some water kefir grains over the weekend so I can hopefully make a clear bubbly type of drink.

Fresh start

166.5
I was hoping to see a decline but my eating was off during the weekend. No exercise and yesterday I treated myself to scones... instead of cake. (bad me!) Oh well. I get to start fresh today.

My kefir grains work with soy milk... though I read that I will need to recharge them with real milk. Maybe the dogs can drink the kefir from the real milk? I'll make them doggy smoothies!

Hubby's bday went well yesterday. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Not much else to say. Must get a move on!

B: oatmeal, raisin, apple, almonds
S: soy kefir, banana, strawberries
L: grilled wholewheat veggi cheese tomato, soy bbq chips and grapes
S: apple w/ almonds
D: shiritaki noodles, meatballs, salad
S: popcorn

Total 1400 cals
Fat - 21.7% (34 grams) Protein - 16.2% (58 grams)
Carbohydrates - 62.1% (222 grams)
