Entry Weight Gain to become "Mentally Healthy" after ED
Mar 30 2008 09:03

I am 5'5 and my doctors have given me a goal weight of 118 lbs. M lowest weight was 82 lbs and I was tube-fed up to 116. After being discharged from the hospital, I dropped back down to 106, which is still more than I weighed before my ED.

Right now, I am in perfect physical condition. My horomone levels, heart rate, liver function, blood pressure, heart mass, and everything are comletely normal. My hair is not fallng out, my skin is not dry, I'm not constantly cold, ad I'm not weak or tired.

So I don't understand why I need to gain weight. My mother has told me that the weight will "heal my mind". However, the only thing that "troubles my mind" is the weight gain! I feel like if the scale said 118, then I would be considered perfect. So what difference does it make? It's just a number. I'm still up 20 lbs!

Does anyone understand what I'm saying?

I was the same way. When I was 102-105 I thought, hey my hair isnt falling out, i'm not cold, i have energy/strength. Then did i soon realize I'm still underweight. I now focus on being healthy weight. For a 5'5" person 106 is low. Like you told me maybe you should be at least 115 and see how it is.

i'm curious and let me know if i offend you, but when they tube-feeded you, how would they stop? i mean, how do they know that you'll full/you've had enough food? do you signal them?
