Entry yesterday & this morning

yesterday i did great with my calories, stuck to 1300ish!  and this morning i pulled myself out of bed at 5am and got my butt to the gym for 45 minutes of cardio.  i am a little sluggish right now but feel great overall!  i intend to make the majority of my workouts be in the AM because i always feel best on the days i manage to schedule exercise in before i start my day.  whether it's a full blown gym workout or just my 20-minute ab pilates video on the floor in my living room, something is better than nothing.

Good for you ooooner. I just joined my local gym on yesterday. I am having a physical assessment today with a personal trainer to tell me where I am physically and what I need to do to get to where I want to be. My goal is to lose 50 lbs before the end of the year, but I there are two things that re holding me back. I hate water and vegetables. One of my goals this year is to increase my water and vegetables intake. I truly believe that if I can change these two bad habits something in bound to fall off (pounds).

thank you negatha!  and congrats on joining the gym.  i became a member of my neighborhood gym in the winter of 2006 after much pep talk to myself!  i was very insecure and intimidated by all the fit people and the equipment i'd never used.  i got over that within a month though, did what i wanted to do without caring what people thought, and a few weeks later one of the best trainers at the gym approached me about being his client since he liked my determination.  i ended up working out with him for a year and half (until mid 2007) and looked and felt the best i ever had in my entire life (even better than high school when i wore all those skimpy cheerleading outfits!).

i think losing 50lbs by 2010 is an absolutely attainable goal, and it can be done even if you hate water and veggies. :)  i suggest trying no-calorie flavored waters (not the kind with artificial sweeteners, rather the club soda flavored type) and as long as you take a multivitamin, don't worry so much about the vegetables.  my trainer always told me to eat some type of protein any time to eat anything whether it's a meal or just a small snack.  upping your protein intake really is key because not only do your muscles love it but so does your digestive track.  i'm so much less hungry throughout the day if i get over 100g of protein.  good luck to you!
