Friday night I went home and jumped on the treadmill to do my jog/walk thang. I usually jog at 5 mph for a maximum of 2 minutes and then walk for 2 min. I've never been able to jog for longer than that. Well Friday I was determined not to look at the timer on my treadmill. I was just going to jog until I felt like dying.
Lo and behold, when I finally started to lag and checked the clock, I'd been running for 2 minutes. So I figured I would try to hit 3 and I did! I cycled between 3 minutes at 5 mph and 2 minutes at 3.5 mph for the full 20 minutes. That meant I did a mile in 13 minutes and 45 seconds - my best time to date!
I was super pumped. It truly was mind over matter in this case.
