poobus's Journal

Entry Jul 26 2006 21:01

I am a slacker on the journal thing, never been good at it.  I have officially decided to "maintain" trying to get into the right frame of mind to do so.

The first thing I am going to do is put the scale far far away and take my measurements.  I think that will be much better for me as I am trying to really build lean cut muscle(and that means weight gain).  It might also help with my scale obsession and let me relax and enjoy my new bod rather than obsessing that I might gain a pound.

It has been a hard month for me and I am most proud of myself for not turning to food to feed my emotions.  No need to have a pitty party for myself as I am generally an up person, but I found out that my old cat has cancer.  It seems silly so some, but in my world of animal medicine, rescue & welfare we love our pets like they were are children.  It is very hard for me to nurse my own baby even though that is the job I do for other animals.  I feel like I am watching a loved one fade away and at some point I am going to have to make a difficult choice, that will be a hard day.

On a positive note this emotional time has created a challenge for me and I feel I have passed the ultimate test and solidified my habit of health and fitness.  This is sort of the final test of my willpower as I have met the other challenges head on and conquered them. So, there is some good in the bad.

Anyway, this to will pass and I will have become better for it. Thanks for listening, well, reading :-(

Hey sweetie - how's your cat doing? I can understand how difficult it is to nurse your own sick kitty. Good luck with the difficult decisions.
