Taking a break

I'm taking a break from logging my food, largely because I have been busy due to the recent death of my father, and partly because I haven't been eating very well lately as I have been distracted. Maybe soon I will start eating better again and will start logging my food intake again. (And logging my walks, if I start them up again.)

Not even logging Sat. 10/25

Saturday, I ate a TON of food in the evening, because I was starving. So I know I went way over my calorie limit. Though I was way under on Sunday, so that helped make up for it.

Anyway, I ate so much Sat., I lost track, and am too embarrassed to add it up anyway, so I just won't do a log for Sat...

Swearing off the Dexatrim

Well, the Dexatrim seems to have lost its effectiveness. If anything, I've been more hungry than usual the last couple days. And it's been making me feel sort of odd - jittery, yet I think it's also made me more tired (and I've been exhausted anyway due to working too much) instead of giving an energy boost like it's supposed to. Lots of pills have an opposite effect on me. Lucky me. So, anyway, I'm going to discontinue the stuff. Too bad, because it really seemed to be working at first, and I thought I had found the magic pill. :-)

Bad day yesterday

I took a double dose of my sleeping med yesterday, and it makes me really hungry, so I ate a lot last night. So I went over by a couple hundred calories. Oh well, I'll try to do better today.

Another good day!

I didn't eat much yesterday for lunch and dinner, and for a snack I was disciplined at Dairy Queen and had a no-suger-added, low fat Dilly bar instead of a blizzard. Saved a ton of calories that way. So I went comfortably under my calorie target. Woo hoo!

A good day!

Yesterday, I did great. I went below even 1500 calories. (Though my log says over 1600 cals, because I actually put on something that I'd had the night before but forgotten to put on that day's log. And I'd already written a journal entry on that day's log, so I decided to leave that day's log alone and just put it on the next day's log.) I think the Dexatrim really works. If it's just a placebo effect, it's a pretty powerful placebo.

Just barely over - maybe

I just guesstimated the chicken parmesan calories using another restaurant, different from the one I actually ate at, since the one I ate at wasn't among the choices. So the calorie count may or may not be accurate. But if it is relatively accurate, I may have just barely gone over my calorie goal. Just by a hair.

I just started trying Dexatrim to see if it works, and it does seem to help control my appetite. Unless it's just a placebo effect! :-)

Bad day, then a good one

The cookie diet only partially works... I found on Friday that I was okay at breakfast, but at lunch, I needed to eat something besides the cookies because I was really hungry. I also had a couple cookies later in the afternoon as a snack because I got hungry again. I ended up going over my calorie allotment on Friday. But yesterday, despite eating some extra cookies again as a snack, and despite eating at Dairy Queen and getting a sundae, I actually went under my calorie count. Cool!

Today I've just had my breakfast and lunch cookies and am not hungry, so that's a good thing...

Waaay over yesterday

Went out to lunch with my co-workers yesterday, and the meal (lasagna) probably had a ton of calories... I used a different restaurant to guesstimate calorie content, since the restaurant I actually went to wasn't listed. So I probably went way over my calorie count. It also didn't help that I ate a ton of cereal yesterday, both in the morning and in the evening. I need to eat smaller amounts of cereal and hope that it fills me up. It's just hard, because I get so hungry...

I'm going to try the "Hollywood Cookie Diet," which I saw in those SkyMall mags on a plane. You eat four 150-calorie cookies for breakfast and lunch. The cookies are pretty big, and seem to be filling (I had my breakfast cookies today and they're keeping me full so far). So the gimmick just might work. I've been having trouble controlling my portion sizes of cereal lately, so if I can feel full on the cookies, that would be a huge plus.
