Entry Pulling my hair out by the roots

It has been a wild week for sure.  I talked to my attorney about pursuing legal actions on this joker over the raw deal on the boat and because I am out of state the cost would be too much to fool with.  He is a young kid 27- 30 years old and I am sure even if I do win a legal action it would be like getting blood from a turnip.  My only recourse is to order the parts needed and roll up my sleves and break out some of my talents I have not used in years and fix the thing.  I can do it  and it will save me about 3.5K in dealer labor cost.  I have too much money invested to use the boat as a doorstop or paperweight, and the darn thing would make a lousy anchor because it floats!  I will order the parts on line tonight so hopefully they will be here in about 15 days.

I guess the days of doing fair and honest business on a handshake are long gone.  Oh well, lesson learned. (Trust Nobody!)  I can not understand how someone could actually rip someone off.  I can honestly say I have not, and would not do that to anyone.  If my children learn nothing from me I hope they at least  pick up that attribute from me.  Oh well......

After thinking and sleeping on cancelling the Florida trip we decided to go ahead and take the trip anyway even if it is without the boat.  The kids are looking foreward to it and it is their spring break vacation.  My wife needs a break and I need a break as well.  Hopefully I can put all the past weeks issues away for a while and have some fun.  I am lucky that there is two military Recreaton centers near buy where I can rent a boat for a couple of days at a low cost.  I guess those military benefits do come in handy now and then.  We will be leaving Saturday morning at O Dark Early around 2AM.  I seem to make much better time driving at night plus the kids sleep for a while.

On a brighter note I am 2 lbs from my monthly goal of getting rid of 10 lbs for the month of March.  I am still hitting the treadmill to work off stress but not eating up to snuff.  I got to work on that.

I have to tell you I miss getting in here everyday.  It is great therapy.

Well until next time,

Roy

How frustrating about the boat.  I don't understand people ripping others off.  I could never imagine doing it and I have learned, the hard way, to be very cautious, even skeptical about everything. Sad, but the way we have to be in our society.

Glad you are still taking a vacation.  Driving early in the morning is wonderful.  Quiet and it really seems to eat up those miles.

Take care and talk to you soon.

Aww I'm so sorry about your boat Roy, I just can't imagine how some  people can be like that! It's just awful to treat one's fellowman like that! Can't trust no-one today, just terrible.

On a more happier note I do hope you have an enjoyable time with your family on your vacation! Try to forget your troubles while you are away and have a fun time OK?

Will miss you while you are away!

Your friend Silk

YEAAAAAA!!!!! Roy's back :-) I can read that determination and drive in your journal again and it sure looks good. Wooohooo vacation in FL. Say hi to my sis, she's in Winter Garden.  lol  Glad you have the option of renting a boat nearby so all your plans can go on. I just knew you and your wife would come to an agreement! ;-)  GREAT JOB on 8 pounds so far this month. That's mighty close to your monthy goal and you're a week early!!!! If you behave on vacation you could still come back w/ that 10 pound loss. You rock my friend!  Welcome back. ~Charlie

ummmm maybe you could use the boats previous owner as your new anchor....   ;-)

Charlie, I second that anchor idea! Roy, I am so glad you will be able to keep your vacation plans!  You'll have time to enjoy being with your wife and kids doing neat stuff, and then when you get back, your boat parts should be arriving and you'll be working on getting things ready for summer boating.  At least you are mechanically inclined and able to make the repairs you need to.  Glad to hear you've still been hitting the treadmill, even if the food has been dicey.  With all of this restaurant stuff going on, I've been eating junky food, but I am making sure to get my running in.  I think keeping up with exercise is so important when the stress hits the fan!!

Great job on being so close to your monthly goal! Woohoo for you! I am sure I speak for all when I say we will be looking forward to hearing about your Florida adventures.  Remember to take your stick with you!

Roy, you are a one-man army! Dude, good luck with the boat! Sounds like pain but just think how much more you're going to end up loving that piece of junk if you could make into a real boat. (boys and their toys)
Great news about the family vacation, I was hoping you guys would reconsider. Hope you get great weather when you go!

I am getting ready to make you a new patch for 30#.  A+!

We missed ya!
Have a great evening evening.
