OMG! I had the best time today. I ran my first competitive 10k race since high school today. It was also my first trail run. I had little preparation as far as long runs or really any runs lately! I finished 16th overall and 2nd for my female age group which I grow out of next year! Since we had several inches of snow the other day, the trails were extremely muddy and still snow covered in areas; crazy messy! I didn't know what to expect and actually loved it waaaaay more than road races. I knew I would. We used to trail run in high school for practice. The mud and slippery hills added a good bit of time to everyone compared to last years; nearly 7 minutes. If I remember correctly, I came in at 60.35. Not bad for no real training and bad conditions on the trail. I fell too, right in the mud! LOL! Added some pictures. It was a beautiful trail and I loved every squishy time my foot hit the ground. Those are my people. Ahhhh......
Congratulations!!!! Here's to muddy butts and squishes between the toes. |
