Redefining my Goals
Dec 14 2009 10:53
New Challenges:
- Longer drive/ shorter lunch break....less time to walk. Used to get 25-30 minutes in at lunch.
- The gym by me is not open as late
- Longer commute home, less energy when it is time to work out.
- Classes starting in January, need to study- might have to be a little less active
- Lots of rain= less walks as well.
New Opportunities:
- I can wake up earlier and get to the gym in the morning. I need to check the hours
- My leg is feeling about 10% better, and my hand is getting there.
- hmm.....I still have some unpacking to do, that will help some, as far as being active.
I think that what I need to do is get summer minded. It is very possible for me to start now and to have a really ripped up body for the summer. I will start bringing my gym bag to work, and to get in a 1 hr express workout after work 3 days a week, and one day during the weekend. I will start @ 4 and work my way up to 5. I have music practice tonight (possibly) so it would have to be after that.
As far as food, I think I will start to aim for 16-1700 for the next few weeks.
Rough Weekend and New Plan
Dec 14 2009 08:14
Friday I am pretty sure I went over what I wanted to eat by @ least a few hundred. It was so good though. I had a banana fosters ice cream thingy and plenty of chicken pasta and crab mournay (really good cheesy crab dip). Gordon didn't arrive till about 11:00, but he did get to meet some of my co-workers, who were acting much nicer than ever. (I guess some wine really helps) I had fun though.
Saturday night, we ate at a buffet for dinner. I had a little bit of several things...not toooo bad. And before that, all we'd had was a couple lean pockets. Nutritionally...not so good, but not too much over calorie wise. It was flooding badly in New Orleans. Some people even got water up to their doors, or inside their homes. I am glad I moved cause my old neighborhood looked bad the next day.Sunday was around maintenance. I did have 1.5 beers with the game though. I talked Gordon into staying till this morning cause I didn't want him to leave yet, or drive in the dense fog at night. He is gonna do a half day at work.
I feel ready to start cutting back my calories again. I feel like I have started to get off track as far as what I eat, even though how much has been somewhat decent. I was really strapped for money when I went shopping and forgot to get vegetables and am really feeling it. I really need to go do that.
Also, I need a new fitness plan....its been sucky for a few weeks.
SO I am going to think about it and put one up later.
Ahhhh!

My eyes are bleeding!
I will start my way from the top and work down (the biggest audacity highlighted in red):
A black top hat,
A black shirt and a leopard scarf around the neck
Black leather pants!!!! A horrible fake looking leather
Black boots!
Anyways.....
Company party tonight, so the plan is to eat lighter, and to only allow myself a few of the not so good things tonight. Enjoy my bfs company, and only 2 drinks.
The menu:
Breakfast- English muffin and turkey bacon 305
Snack- Yoplait (I am gonna buy Greek when I go to the store next week...too much sugar and HFCS
) 100
Lunch- A healthy boxed meal- lasagna 280
Snack - Protein bar 290
Total- 975
Leaves me about 925 cals to get to the goal of 1900.
What I like on the menu for tonight's party:
fresh fruits and cheeses ( I will eat lots of fruit first)
Appetizers: Fried catfish w/ tartar sauce, Grilled fillet Mignon bites, Grilled alligator sausage w/ creole mustard
Buffet station: Spinach and artichoke dip, chicken and andouille gumbo w/ rice, crab mournay w/ croustades, red beans and rice w/ andouille sausage, grilled chicken pasta, and Cajun fried turkey w/ pistolletes.
Dessert: Minature french pastries, banana foster with vanilla ice cream
It won't be easy. See how easily one can go over 925? Especially with a premium open bar. The place is located on Bourbon Street.
Note to self...

Do not let her go to lunch before you again. You will get so hungry and moody you might do something like drive to Taco bell, and get a cheesy gordita crunch (F) and a super chicken quesadilla.
The good news is you are only at 1800 and something for the day, so all is not lost, save your chance of getting an A or A- for the day.
Haze
Dec 09 2009 08:01
My leg was killing me this morning so I took a vicodin. Never has a vicodin hit me this hard. I started to feel hazy as I drove to work. (Bad I know...but I have taken one many times without feeling drowsy in the slightest) I haven't had one in a couple weeks, since they had to cut my hand open. I don't think I'll take another one any time soon. But my leg sucked this morning.
My work out was good, even though I wasn't able to get in touch with my accountability partner
. I did some lat pulls, (60 lbs) bicep curls (15) and calf raises (free weights, 70 lbs) and a bunch of ab work with the ball. (12 lb on the bench, 16 lb ball standing) My hand hurt when I tried to do push ups. I do have workout gloves with some padding, but that is the only thing I can't do
. Oh well, my healing is #1. I can get back to them eventually.
Practice went well. The viola player showed up. The girl who's house we meet at is really cool. Kinda hippy like, nature oriented. She made these really good quesadillas with vegetables inside. Lots of them, and we had some garlic bread. I was glad because it seems like they are all healthy, and it was small portions. I guess there is a reason they are all small
My friends woulda had a bunch of terrible things like fried chicken if they cooked. The new music books come on Monday, so we will get together again then, and have parts to play.
My bf comes on Friday and will accompany me to the company party. Hair appointment tomorrow! Yay. My ends are kinda scraggly.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Yay!

Got a viola player.
One of the girls that plays violin knew one, and will be bringing her to practice tonight. Cool. The quartet is complete.
I ordered the Essential wedding songs for quartet book online Saturday, so at our next practice, we can start working through that.

Today, someone from the main office comes in, and they start the annual reviews. Thanks to the write up crazy got me, I doubt I'mgetting a raise. Whatever. I hope she wears something extra crazed today.
Right now, I mostly just wanna keep my job till something else opens up.
My bill for Verizon was insane: $462. But I got it cut in half at least.
Today I practice with the group again. We are gonna eat and play.
I had some waffles and yogurt for breakfast. Not sure what lunch and dinner are gonna be. I have been at 147.0 on the dot all week. Have not gained or lost a lb. I am fine with that. I meant to go to the gym last night, but my nap turned into 10 hours of sleep last night. I feel great though. But I think I will go home and get my gym bag together so that after we practice I can stop by the 24 hour gym. I haven't been in awhile because of my hand, so I need to get back in the groove. Anybody wanna volunteer to call me out once a week to make sure Ive been @ least 3 times?
12-0!!! Black and Gold to the Superbowl!!!!!!

So who got to watch my Saints yesterday? Pretty awesome, right? My city is really hyped up right now. I was @ a sports bar about to walk out cause there was just over 2 minutes and my team was down 7. And how about that Meachum? I never really had a team I cared about in football till the last couple years. Its really grown on me. I used to love basketball...basketball? Haven't watched a game in a couple months now.
Anyways, I've been eating OK, maintaining my sexy the best I can.
I'm going to the gym tonight for the first time since I hurt my hand. I wonder how many push-ups I've been demoted to.
Breakfast:
Cinnamon raisin english muffin with smart balance (1/2 tsp) 200
Dannon light n fit strawberry 100
Lower sodium turkey bacon (2 slices) 50
Snack 1:
Yogurt (I bought a lot of it): 140
Lunch:
Healthy choice Pot stickers: 380
Snack 2:
Protein bar (SM again): 290
Total before dinner: 1160
Calories left for dinner: about 500. Lots of vegetables...
dessert: about 240. I may stop by TCBY. I am aiming to maintain for a few weeks. Starting by going to 1900 this week, and then up to 2100.
I couldn't resist....wardrobe update:
A weird shaped brown velvet hat, a brown velvet long sleeved shirt
, cream colored tight pants???, and brown boots with some type of split on the back of them. How can you expect to be taken seriously? LMBO.
Yesterday I ran a little bit for the first time since June. About 8 minutes or so. It wasn't that hard, so I am sure I can run at least a mile or two if I really try. Baby steps. I will listen to my hip.
The violin players were both nice girls very laid back. We met at one of their houses, and will again on Tuesday. We need lots of practice, cause we have all been playing solo for awhile. But its all in fun for now. On Tuesday, one of the girls will cook some dinner so that we can eat and practice.
Me and my mom had one akward conversation last week. I am not letting it get to me as much. I gotta set boundaries in my life as far as what I do for others.
God is good.

I am finally meeting the violinists today. I just finished practicing for about an hour or so, the first time I have played since I hurt my hand. They both sound like really nice girls and I am really looking forward to it.
Its Friday!!!!!!!

I told myself that I am taking today off from cleaning. Last night I got the kitchen in order, as well as my room. All that is left is to organize my closet this weekend, and clean my car. I feel so accomplished.
I think Poncho is liking the new place, since my room is much bigger and there is a new area to explore outside.
I am going to meet up with my friend (the one I had been growing apart from) and this other guy I met at a church thing to watch the Saints go 12-0 @ the bar that is by my old place. It is closer to them. They have the best quesadillas there. I always get chicken, so I think I will try steak.
For breakfast I had: An Orowheat cinnamon raisin english muffin (so good, and soft) toasted with some smart balance- About 200 cals including the smart balance and 3 slices of low sodium turkey bacon. Total: 275
My snack will be : Vanilla yogurt in about an hour: 140
Lunch: Smart ones spaghetti with meat sauce: 310
Afternoon snack: Snickers marathon protein bar (not the best one for me, just OK, but I am addicted): 295
Dinner: TBD, but I will have lots of vegetables, since my day is lacking in that department. I have about 880 cals left for that and dessert to get to my goal. I think it is so ingrained in me to eat about 1500, this extra 400 is...kinda hard to remember to get in. I think I just need a really big breakfast. I did eat about 800 cals last night, cause I made a homemade pizza. It was good. I will have dessert tonight too.
