Entry My very first journal entry...

So. I have been lurking on this site and making use of the brilliant tools and have now decided to take the plunge and become an active member. Yay for me!

Well this is my first journal entry so I guess I will start with a little bit of information about me (even though nobody will read this drivel anyway!)

I am 17 years old, 18 next month whoo! I love all things music, especially live music. I also love AFL, West Coast Eagles to live! I love dancing, my family and friends and my wonderful boyfriend.

My obsession with food started when I was about 12/13 years old, but not in an unhealthy way. I began a very healthy, low sugar diet at about 13 because I began to suffer from terrible acne. I tried absolutely EVERYTHING, every cream, treatment or wash on the market, and nothing worked. I found that fatty, greasy foods like pizza and foods filled with processed sugar like chocolate set me off, so I cut them all out of my diet. I was the healthiest teenager I knew!

However even a healthy diet wasn't enough and eventually I had to go on some very strong drugs, and am now lucky enough to be totally pimple free. However those few years had such an impact on my life, I became shy and moody and suffered from depression which, thankfully, I have now also recovered from. So I would love to speak to anyone suffering from or who has suffered from acne as I think most people have absolutely no idea of the effect it can have, and would perhaps like to help someone in a postion that I have been in.

Anyway, having a healthy diet at such a young age, coupled with doing at least 10 hours of dancing a week meant that I had a very lean and healthy body, which I always took pride in. However, in my last year of high school I quit dancing, and my skin cleared up. This meant I was finally able to indulge myself, which I did with great gusto. I then graduated and went into an office job for a year, where I am currently. All the sitting around, coupled with no outside exercise and more unhealthy food than my body was used to mean that I gained 10 kilos within an 18 month period. I'm now determined to get those 10 back off again and get back to my 'normal'.

I would love to chat with anyone who feels the same way as me or that can relate to anything that I have said, so if anyone happens to read this, drop me a line (:

I am here to get healthy, and I survived a bout of depression YEARS ago....so we have that in common :)

I just wanted to welcome you to CC. It sounds like you are working on toning up, while I still have MAJOR weight to lose...but its all good. We all have to start somewhere.

I wish you well!
