I went shopping today partially because I'm starting a new job this week and wanted to perk up the wardrobe, partially because a friend was spending the weekend and she's an enthusiastic shopper, and partially because all my jeans have shrunk to slightly too short to wear with my boots. So we went to this huge outlet mall, and I was kind of in the state of mind I'm used to being in when I go shopping with thin friends (the friend I was with is a size 0-2) - I'm not going to be able to find anything, nothing will fit, today will be a long 'waiting for my friend' day, then I remembered! I'm like, a 'normal' size now. Sure enough, I was able to get jeans at the Levi's outlet (they had almost every style in a 16 tall), and shirts and sweaters at Old Navy, NY & Co and Banana Republic (L or XL), and the high boots I tried on (at Naturalizer and Bass) even zipped all the way up! It was awesome. No embarrassment, and no ugly surprises in the dressing room. I was a little apprehensive in Levi's because I know I'm an LB jeans 16 but I wasn't positive if I was a Levi's 16. Apparently I am! Now, the only downside is I really shouldn't have spent so much on clothes I hope to shrink out of within 6 months. However, I don't want to look like a hobo at my new job, or in general really, and because these will be the only clothes I have that actually fit until I buy more, I'll get a lot of use out of them. Anyway, the point is, I no longer have to shop at the 'special' stores. I'm done with that, for good. Except maybe bras. I don't even know where non-LB ladies buy their bras. Victoria's Secret I guess? Once I need to buy new bras I'll have to explore my options.
OMG that is awesome, I can't wait until I can make LB go away forever! You are a total rock star.
