Entry Nov 16 2007 12:03

I never run with music on. When I do I just count how many songs have gone by and then get into some internal debate on how much longer this run could possibly go on, and why I am even running in the first place.  And it would be so much easier to just give up this whole healthy lifestyle thing, it wouldn't change my personality if I was overweight and unhealthy.  Serisouly, these are the kind of things that running to music makes me think about.  I'm neurotic, but I've accepted it and moved on.
ANYWAYS, cut to the point of this entry, I live in Halifax, which I believe is the windiest city in Atlantic Canada... there is no such thing as drizzle or breezy here.  It's hurricane winds and terrential downpour.  Or sun.  This morning,  it was simply windy, no rain yet.  Now, is another story, my poor little attic apartment is straining to hold the water out. Anyways, I woke up this morning and got ready for my run, I started jogging and was enjoying the mild air and thinking about school work and priortizing my day when, out of nowhere, this massive gust of wind came and LITERALLY, blew me over.  It must have looked like somebody punched my in the side of the face to any passersby.  Embarrassing? Slightly.  The point to my previous rant about not running to music comes when I picked myself up and continued with only a bruised ego, running straight into the wind.  Obviously, the tune in my mind was "Against the Wind"...no sooner had this song popped into my brain when I was passing a house full of frat boys who jumped to their windows and started screaming out the lyrics.  I can only imagine how ridiculous I must have looked to inspire about 6 20 year old men to do that.

Aside from that, things are good.  Busy as all hell, but good.  I have 4 papers and a television field report due in the next 2 weeks.  I am going home next weekend to visit my parents.  I've pretty much stopped socialising due to the mountains for school work I have to do.  My roommate asked me if I wanted to rent a movie tonight because she thinks I need to focus on something unrelated to journalism.  I asked if we could rent Capote.  She says she's making me watch something by National Lampoon instead.
Along with running I have been going to Aerobics classes at the university gym 3 times a week.  I started because my other roommate needed somebody to work out with.  I am really enjoying them actually and see a major difference in my muscle tone.

I hope all is well out in Calorie-Count land. I've been lurking during study breaks.
