Entry Back on the Wagon
Nov 09 2009 14:50

This weekend, all attempts to lose weight went out the window. That's not to say that I ate a giant slice of cake or anything crazy like that. I did, however, really enjoy some tasty artisan breads and some delicious cheese on top of my regular food for the day.

Additionally, I managed to have 2 meals as salads but even salads can be loaded with calories. If I had to guess, I'd say my salads were around 600 calories each, maybe more. Lettuce, mixed baby greens, watercress & spinach base with loads of tasty things like shredded beets, carrots, edamame, spring onions, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, a few walnuts and a couple fresh mozzarella balls (the small ones) topped with a touch of balsamic vinaigrette and a little vegan fried rice for flavor and weight. Oh so yummy but oh so many calories!!

I'm feeling stuck. I HATE working out but I'm clearly not burning enough calories. If I eat around 1500 a day (seems kind of low) then I end up starving by 7pm. If I eat 1700 calories a day, I don't lose weight.

So I guess I need to work out more. I wonder if I can get into a routine to burn 500 calories on cardio every time I go. That's an hour of medium intensity cardio, right? An hour seems like forever...

10:30pm: Fail. I didn't go to the gym. I didn't eat well. I know I went over in calories and while I feel guilty, part of me just doesn't care. I feel tired and down about this whole losing weight thing. I hit a plateau a ways back and I just don't think its likely I'll move past it any time soon.

Put all the uh-ohs behind you. Don't look back.  Just keep looking forward to where you want to be.  That's not to say that every day will be perfect, but just take it a day at a time.

Maybe look for exercise that you actually enjoy.  If you hate going to the gym, try something else.  It may take you a while to find an activity that you truly enjoy. Once you find that type of exercise, it will be a lot more fun for you.  For me, it's been biking (outside). I love the fresh air and the scenery...

Check your daily protein intake. If you're hungry, you may just not be getting what you need in terms of protein.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!  Smile
