Today I worked so couldn't do any exercising during the day. Man, I hate my job. I wish I had a job that I was moving all day. It really cripples me when I'm sitting at my desk all day, looking outside to all the beautiful sunshine, just wishing I could burn a few calories on a good 2 mile walk, especially when I'm trying to burn as many calories as possible these days. I sit and type all day, are there any calories burned when your fingers are going a mile a minute. (Should be)!
Came home had supper and went down to burn some calories on the treadmill.
Boss brought all his leftover Halloween candy in for us all to enjoy (yeah right), just what I needed to look at chocolate bars all day ( Reece's pieces, Peanut Butter Cups and Oh Henry bars). I was a good girl today. Not one I just kept thinking about how many more steps I'd have to do on the treadmill, besides I ate enough on the weekend to do me for awhile.
Breakfast: Instant Oatmeal, rye bread with Jam, tea with 1% mild and 1/2 tsp of sugar (281 calories).

Snacks: Raw baby carrots, Raisins ( mini-snacks), Jello and 2 cups of air popped popcorn.
( Need to work on eating a few more fruits and veggies)
Total Calories: 1358 &n bsp; Total Calories Burned: 1870 = 512 Deficit
yep! at least 5 servings of fruits & veggies a day. :D maybe you can do the twist while you're sitting in that old dreaded chair... or punches, toe touches, i dunno, holding your stomach in & breathing normally, stretches, butt squeezes, leg lifts... you'll think of something. ;) typing does burn calories, but i'm sure it's not much. i sure am glad you're eating more, AND that you didn't attack them candy bars. |
Hi- I replaced my desk chair with one of those exercise balls. I bounce on it all day, and move my abs side to side, it feels so much better than sitting in a chair. I've read it helps burn more calories than regular sitting too, and is good for your back. I had to build up to sitting on it all day. At first people laughed at me, but I really didn't care. Then they got over it. Then they got jealous, and now some of them have exercise ball chairs too! I also try to get up and walk at least 3 times a day- it's usually just two 15 min walks and then a 40 min walk at lunch, and then I just eat at my desk. |
My Mom has used the "I work. I don't have time to exercise' excuse most of her life. Now she is having issues with her Rhumatoid/osteo arthritis and the doc told her she has to lose some weight. She called me in tears 'cause she didn't have time and it wasn't fair...but I couldn't sympathize with her. I told her there are 1440 minutes in the day. Why not use 15 of those minutes (a mere 1% of her day) to exercise? Walk, stretch, dance...anything to get her off her butt! She agreed that she could do that and has been trying for about a month - and has lost 8 pounds! There is ALWAYS time for exercise. Most people think I am crazy to exercise for an hour and a half, but it's only 6% of my day - I spend just over 20% of it watching TV every evening! By those rates it sounds like I should be exercising more! Good to see you're eating more and still using that treadmill! You're my hero! |
I guess that means I'm not excerising enough !! |
