Ta-da! See, have not disappeared! Hoor-ray!

Yes, I am definitely interested in being able to update my journal... so I went and bought a laptop and am stealing Wi-Fi. Ok, I confess... the laptop was more of a business expense. But sure does come in handy for this journal thing.

So, I think it's ok to talk about my business here on CC... because it is such a big part of my life - of where I am and where I am wanting to go.

I took the knowledge I learned when I lived in Canada and started a business to hand-dye yarn. I know it sounds rather strange, but it is good. I've been serious about it for a wee bit over a year. Passionate and obsessive. I want to build a wool empire for Mirabellah (that is my daughter).

I am building my business slow, because I don't want it to be something bigger than what I want to deal with. Sure, I could go crazy, make it huge and make a lot of money... but it is not how I want to live. It's not about more, more, more. It's about quality of life. I think this is true with the way how we eat.

I believe if you focus on good quality, then the rest will follow along and you'll feel fantastic. Same goes for exercise. If you spend your time doing something you enjoy, that is fun - the quality of the experience will be outweight any negative factor associated with exercise.

So, I am going to focus on one moment at a time. Focus on the good and build upon a good solid foundation. Today I had a lovely stir-fry over brown rice. We won't talk about the homemade Christmas Cookies.

15 weeks out from competition...
Dec 14 2009 14:09

I've added new pics to track progress and help hold me accountable. I'm praying when I start the lean down process, there is muscle hiding under that layer of fat. LOL. I know there will be, I worked my ass off and have been maintaining weight and gaining muscle. I am at a 15 week mark for the training and can't wait to get into more and more. I am like an addict. I didn't know I would love it so much.

At the order of Larry, my trainer, I am in a constant awareness of my posture. Stand tall, literally. I love it. He's absolutely right.

1st Day for a new way of life?
Dec 11 2009 08:16

I weighed in and measured yesterday and am deeply ashamed of myself.  I am at my highest weight in a LONG time and can't believe that my waist is as big as it is.  The good news is I have a new course of action mapped out that will hopefully be the extra I need to get this journey over and done.  I want to be able to wear the cute little clothes and run and play without puffing when chasin Jonathon.

I decided to go the Herbalife route.  It's all natural, it's MD Dr formulated, and I have a friend who's doing marvelously on the program.  Best of all they don't promise to be a cure all!  You have to work and follow the steps in order to get results.  I took the plunge and decided to become a distributor.  What could be more motivating than to be walking advertisement for your business?  The extra money will be nice, too, don't get me wrong.  Besides, if I get the results I want I will need to go shopping LOL!

Wish me luck on my new journey and I will keep posting.  I will weigh and measure every Wednesday as always since it's the day I am programmed to.  I did the shakes for breakfast and dinner yesterday but didn't have the vitamins and other goodies until last night.  I will tell you that the shake, if made properly, is extremely filling.  Add some fresh fruit to it and you have a yummy meal in a glass!

Starting stats:

weight: 249

waist: 51"

Long Absense
Dec 02 2009 19:00

Long time since I have visited Calorie Count (aka CC). The site conversion came at a time in my life when I was dealing with A LOT of personal life changes and it was just one more thing. I finally have accepted the old Calorie Count is gone. I"m sort of stubborn that way sometimes. Am I the last to accept the shiny new sparkle?

Life has taken some interesting, unexpected twists. It's been a long road of recovery and healing. Lots of learning. Lots of good things. Time moves so quickly, sometimes.

I've been thinking about where I've been and where I am at. I miss having a journal outside my normal circle of friends that I see day to day or that know me in real life, something definitely outside of any link to business or can be traced to my business, something private - but where I have different friends, with good advice and good feedback.

New Calorie Count (sorry, still new for me) will be a learning curve and a bit of a technical challenge (text bodies no workie with Crackberry, my only internet). So I am on family and library internet access only. It's ok, I'm used to it. 2 years I've learned to live without home internet service and it has been a healthy change.

I thought a lot about making an effort to be involved in CC again and how. I've decided, primarily journal - because it really is a selfish indulgence. Secondary, with sharing whatever positive feedback or experiences I can.

I hate that the world can be such a negative environment. I can't change the world, but I can control the bubble around me. I accept this limitation. :)

PS - I updated my profile. I'll see what I can do about updating and dusting off some of the cobwebs around here.

Preparing for Figure Competition -Day 4 (19 weeks out)
Nov 21 2009 10:50

I feel good, look good and am so excited to make this journey. I've researched myself crazy and seem to have a basic game plan. It's 19 weeks out and I am working on putting on muscle and cutting fat, sodium and sugars from my diet. I've started a cycle workout with tri-sets and need to tweak my delt and glute routines...any suggestions? My legs and abs are good, my lats a work in progress. I plan to take weekly photos tracking my progress. I love this site for all the knowledge, tools and support. Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

BF% around %15 starting, 113-114 and feeling good! Laughing
