Ok, I'm totally PMSing right now so I'm not even going to bore you with an overly emotional 'woe is me' journal. I'll just stick to the food and fitness stuff so none of you feel obligated to...yet again...do the "hey, it's ok Tiffy' song and dance that my high maintainence ass requires from time to time

With that said...let's get right to it, shall we?
Weight - 163lbs
I'm thinking this has to do with the dreadful PMS I mentioned earlier so I'm not too worried. I was at 160 this past weekend so I highly doubt I gained 3 full pounds since then. Check back with me next week though...then we'll see how I feel!
Food - average
I've recently rediscovered my love for cheese and have begun putting it on EVERYTHING again. I wouldn't say that I've been eating poorly, but I definitely wouldn't say I've been eating cleanly either. Today I plan on sticking with my delicious CHEESE FREE lunch and maybe...just maybe...go one evening WITHOUT adding a pound of cheese on to whatever my dinner is going to be. Wish me luck!
Fitness - decent
I didn't run or workout on Monday or Tuesday. I needed to give my body a break from my race this past weekend so I did. This morning I took a short run (probably about a half hour) around the neighborhood and I felt good for the most part...but I was moving in slow motion. Tomorrow morning I plan on running to the gym to get some strength training in this week and then I'll probably rest again on Friday. The real issue I'm going to have in regards to working out is this upcoming weekend...
This weekend - help!
Long story short, I'm headed home (Cleveland) this weekend to be there for one of my closest and oldest friends in the world. She's going through an awful breakup (on to of being unemployed since FEBRUARY) and is officially in full meltdown self destruction mode. Needless to say, I think a little wellness check is in order.
Anyway, I'm taking the ever delightful MegaBus on Friday afternoon for 6 hours and won't get to Cleveland until 11PM. I think I'm going to take some advice that dplatzer gave me awhile back and take my little 2lb weights with me to get some arm curls in. Hey, why the hell not?
Foodwise I'm already planning accordingly by getting Subway before we even leave because we only make one stop on the turnpike and that's either at a Hardee's, Fazoli's, Mcdonald's or a Dairy Queen - YIKES! However, exercise wise...I doubt that I'll really be able to get anything in until Monday morning. I'm going to make my best effort to go on a quick jog Saturday morning, but you know how it is when you're out of town...things typically don't work like that. I'm only really going to be in town on Saturday and I already know we're going to drink that night. Hell, with the way she's feeling we might even drink during the day too! Again I plan on doing my best when it comes to food...I actually eat better when I'm on the road believe it or not. It's when I'm at HOME that gets me!
Ok, I've got to get back to work. I just wanted to somewhat work through a game plan for the next few days because I know once I put it in writing I feel more like I have to follow through, you know?

Umm... hello??? News flash: Didn't you know that pms "woe is me the world is crumbling around me and my pants shrunk 3 sizes and all I want to consume is deep fried cheese" rants are not boring - but entertaining? And maybe on top of that they make the rest of us feel oh so much more normal when our rants start spilling onto the internet journals... just saying..... ;) And I like love lists too. They are the best for getting your head around what needs doing. |

Aw, it actually sounds like your doing good! A reason for your weight being up could be your muscles- that run was on the longer side for you, yes? If so, your muscles are probably recovering and growing and retaining water. Plus the lady timing. Give it a day or two, maybe weigh in before your trip so you can stay focused. Sounds like your friend really needs you, I hope that the two of you have a great time, and I am quite honored you are taking some of my advice forthe bus!! |
