So I had one week with a huge weight loss and I was on top of the world... THen, TOM... then last night I eat half of a pizza... and my calories have been closer to 2000 than the 1700 I usually aim for... and two/three weeks have gone by... and I haven't lost anything... and I know why...
peanut butter for breakfast is never a good plan for me... starts me off on the wrong foot all day. Every one has their trigger foods... no more peanut butter for me!
No more pizza either... at least not the kind we order out. Somehow, no matter what my best intentions, I always eat half of the large pizza... I sop off the grease, don't eat the crust, and order cheese only... which is better than what I USED to do... but still not good enough.
So right now I have the "Monday" mentality... which is WRONG WRONG WRONG.... As in "I'll start again on Monday." Start WHAT? I am NOT on a diet... I have to watch what I eat every day of my life forever and ever. Some days I may PLAN to eat more than others... but there are NO days when I can just ignore (that doesn't work for me AT ALL)...
I have to cut back on diet coke again... I'm drinking just that and no water it seems... so I'm going to a one a day limit... no more peanut butter, no more ordering out pizza...
all starting Monday... :-)
No one can NEVER have pizza! Maybe next time order a medium, that way eating half is not as much. Pizza and diet cokes are always going to happen it's just how you compensate for it, either exercising or eating low cal foods that day. I can always tell when I'm in a "pizza" mood and just have lots of water and veggies for lunch so I can have plenty of cals for pizza! It's too important to give up completly! |
okay...here's my pizza strategy if you're interested. I keep lean cuisine/healthy choice pizzas in stock should I ever get a craving at home. That usually stops me from ordering out. You can add lots of extras to those too...chicken, spinach, extra mushrooms, low fat feta...etc and make them taste good instead of like cardboard. Another route if you have a Trader Joe's near you is they have pizza dough you can make yourself...so you can have the pizza but at least control what goes onto it. Keeping some form of pizza in my diet helps me control the need for it 99% of the time. But sometimes, I just want real pizza and I know if I order it I'm going to eat the whole thing so I'll go somewhere and just get 1 slice. I also look forward to any occasion (birthday or work party) where pizza is ordered and always allow myself a slice or two because I can't eat the whole pizza when there are 20 people in line behind me. So I suggest you start lurking around Chuck-E-Cheese and stealing a slice from the birthday boy's table when nobody is looking. Oh yeah, the last time I checked my calendar today is Monday. Yep, that's right Monday, September 28, 2007. Funny how Monday can just sneak up on you out of nowhere. You best put down that jar of peanut butter right now. |
