tiatortilla95's Journal

Oh boy, this getting back in the swing of things is not coming as easily as I'd like it to. I thought I was ready to dive right back in but apparently it's gonna be more like slowly dipping my toes and working my way in til I get used to the water!
I cancelled on Jen for the gym Monday, did fairly well eating wise, and ended up with a baby deficit after a few before bedtime snacks. I did workout yesterday morning with my neighbor but it was only a 20 minute walking video, some lower body work and a little free weights. I would have had a nice def but a few glasses of wine took care of that!
It is only day 3 back from my vacation and the fact that I am giving any effort is better than I've ever done in the past at this point. So, I am not going to get down on myself about it, just gonna keep myself connected here and get in my exercise and hopefully I'll be at full speed by next week. I really do feel super tired. I have not slept well since we've been back, might be the jet lag or maybe the stress of everything that has to be done in the next few months for the big move, but I need to get some good sleep soon. And my dreams have been just off the wall, very long, very strange, and I wake remebering almost the entire thing. Weird.
OK, so the plan for today is to grab fruit or veggies when I want a snack, stay away from the wine (I finished it off last night so that shouldn't be too hard!) and get my butt to the gym!
Happy Hump Day all!!!

Howdy all! Back from vacation and ready to get back on track! Oh, what a food filled week it was! In and Out, Jack in the Box, Weinerschnitzel, the list goes on and on!!! I enjoyed every minute of it and am actually looking forward to getting back to my healthier foods and work outs!
We had such a great time! The first couple of days were terribly hot, there was some freak heat wave and it hit 100 and 103 on Sun and Mon! Luckily though by Wednesday it was a breezy and Sunny 70-75 degrees! Lovely. Hubby had a few interviews and actually has a couple of strong potentials!!! So fingers crossed something comes through soon. This trip just really cemented the desire to move HOME! I'll admit I was a little worried that when I got there, the traffic and crowds and high prices would scare me away, but nope! Not a one!
I realized something while I was there, and that is for several years I've wanted to move back but felt I couldn't becasue it wasn't fair to my kids, taking them to a completely strange place, new schools, totally different pace of life than they have been used to, so everytime I went back there, I focused so much on the negatives to "convince" myself of why I should not live there! I really saw it through a new pair of eyes this time! And I remembered how much I LOVE Palm Trees!!!! LOL
And to add the icing to my cake....we told our boys about the move....and they took it VERY well! My oldest is even excited! It was a rather serendipitous moment actually, it was our last day there, we were getting ready to make the rounds to say good-bye and Mason (my oldest) says "aww, can't we just stay here?" Hubby and I gave each other the nod and said "well......."
Now, I know as the date gets closer and we start to say goodbye to friends and family here, the excitement will fade but we talked about that too and they seem be excepting of it!
Now all that's left to do is tell family, friends and employers here, pack up the house, then get it rented out, then drive cross country with 10 years of accumulated stuff, find a new job, and a place to live! All in 3-4 months!
PIECE OF CAKE!!!!!

Well, today was the day! We had our final weigh in for the Biggest Loser competition. I was about 1/2% behind the leader last Monday. But the way he kept dropping weight every week I had to assume he was going to lose another 2-3 lbs this week. So that meant in order to beat him I had to lose at least 6 lbs! My plan was to just be as active as humanly possibly all weekend.
Between Friday evening and this morning I clocked nearly 8 hours on my elliptical!!! Not to mention cleaned my house from top to bottom and gave both dogs a bath (<------they both weigh about 50 lbs and hate taking a bath!).
I felt really good about it this morning. I chose my lightest clothes and shoes just to be on the safe side. Get to work and hear that my competition had the flu all weekend!
We all walked out to the shop scale, and he gets on first, lost another pound! I jump on and.........197!!! Not only was I out of the 2's on the work scale (kinda like the doc scale!) That was 10 lbs from last Monday!! It wasn't really 10 lbs, as last Monday was the day before Aunt Flo, so I was surely holding a couple of lbs of bloat, and I did a bit of drinking and snacking last weekend too! Not to mention my going problem that took care of itself by midweek! LOL
So I can happily add $172.00 to my vacation fund!! Minus a little mani/pedi before we go!
Happy Monday Everyone!!!

As you can see I've given up on my 190 goal for next Friday! I knew it was unrealistic but it was fun to try! I am happy with my fairly steady 2 lbs a week! Which has me right in line for my original goal above!
This weekend is literally my "last chance weekend" for our BL contest at work!! No Easter Ham for me!! LOL My plan is to be as active as possible from the moment I leave here today til I go to bed Sunday night!! I can do it!
Happy Easter Everyone!!!

I simply can not believe how quickly the weeks are flying by! Normally the weeks before vacation just drag and take forever! I really can't keep up with how fast time is flying right now! But I am not complaining! We're just starting to make officail plans for the week we're out there, there are so many people we want to see we really have to schedule the entire week out! It's hectic but so worth it!! I am so freggin excited!!!
It's a good thing that my spirits are so high about the vacay right now or I'd prolly allow myself to succumb to the effects of this slight hangover I feel looming over me! Here at work I deal with all of our sales reps for freight that we ship out, and FedEx is one of our preffered carriers, well the rep called me yesterday to ask if Robert and I would be free to go to a Website Launch Party last night (anyone watch The Office?? I love that show and that's all I could think of!) anyway, I found a sitter and we went.
It was at this super fancy Italian restaurant, where they make the food look like pieces of art, they had a private room with there own bar! And oh my, I have to mention the bartender/waiter was straight out of an Italian Dream (he was actually Greek I heard him mention) but his accent was so thick and my gosh so sexy!! I could hardly understand a word he was saying but I didn't mind! LOL
So, the Fed Ex Rep, Greg, is a really cool guy, I've been working with him for years and we've gone with him to many events, mostly basketball games, baseball games and concerts, this was the first time with all the Big Wigs around. Anywho, everytime Robert or I finished a drink, he was beckoning to my lil Italian eye candy to bring another! Which I was not protesting but that many drinks paired with very pretty but very small food, made for one tipsy Tia!
I woke with cotton mouth and a headache but, I dragged my bootie out of bed at 5am!!! (ok, it was 5:15) to go to my neighbors for our workout! Did I mention we changed our Tue/Thur workouts to 5:30 am instead of 8:30pm? This is only the 2nd or 3rd week but I am liking it so far! This also emphasizes my notion that I do better when I know people are counting on me! Had she not been expecting me to be there, I would have stayed in bed and whined and moaned until it was time to go to work.
This is one long babbling entry! I better get to work! Hope you're all having a great day!!!

That's what we woke to this morning! bleh! I was so sure we were done for the year! Man, I am ready for our Cali trip! 2 weeks and counting!
That, on top of Tom arriving any day, I started my morning in the crabbiest of crabby moods! I wanted to get up early to get in a little w/o and get to work early, but could not drag myself out of bed, ended up over sleeping! Which, of coarse, just makes things worse. I started snapping at the boys, slamming doors, just an all around bear. Then the guilt sets in after I dropped them off that I was crabby at them because I was running late! UGH. So then I start tearing up.....finally get to work, did our BL weigh in, only to find I am still trailing the leader by 1/2 %! Only 1 week to go.
I decided to sit down with my cup of coffee and log onto CC for a little distraction. And after reading a few journals (Katies sun-shiney running story!) I am feeling better. Funny how moods are contagious! Gotta remember that!
It is surely a Monday Ladies, let's just get through the day!

This being the third year in a row to reach 199.something, it's sorta lost it's luster. Almost exactly 1 year ago (4/18/08) I made a grand declaration to never have the number 2 be the the first number on the scale again! Sadly it had returned by June of 08 and has stuck around ever since....until today that is!
I am actually kind of glad that it doesn't feel like such a huge accomplishment because I think that may have played into my loss of motivation shortly after getting here?? There are a couple of things that I have this year that I've not had in years past.....This is the earliest I've reached the 1's and this is the first year I've not had a back slide thus far. As well as the big move....they don't let fat people live in California! LOL
Still super busy here at work which is kinda bitter sweet, it is making the weeks absolutlely fly by which means my vacay to Cali is coming up quick! But that also means my vacay to Cali is coming up quick!!! EEEk! Still so much to do both at home and at work before we go! Better get to it!

9.8 lbs in 2 weeks???........hey, a girl can dream!
Happy Friday!

Feeling pretty good today! It's casual Friday here at work, which ususally means I'm wearing my size 20 jeans that are not very flattering lately since they have become a bit baggy. I've not really liked myself in jeans since I was a teenager. I carry so much of my weight in my mid section that if jeans fit me around the waist they are super baggy in the legs and rear end. The few pair that I have (all size 20's) were slighty more accomodating to my body type so I've stuck with them for several years. Last year, at the end of summer, after I had started inching back up the scale, I bought a "motivate me" pair of size 16's. This morning after pulling up my 20's without even unbottoning them, I decided to pull out those 16's.
Now I'm sure you all can relate....this is a risky move, what if they don't fit??? That's a serious blow to the 'ol ego! Right? Also, even at my lowest low last year of 195 (which I am still about 8 lbs. away from) 16's were a hit and miss. But I just felt like I should take the chance........and here I sit in my size 16's!!!!!! Now, they are quite snug
, and I have a super mega muffin top going on (<----nothing a big comfy sweatshirst can't cover tho!
) but they are on by golly!
I will admit, I was a little disapointed this morning (before the jeans) when I jumped on the scale to only see a 2 lb. loss......I know I know....2 lbs is great! I know it is, but seriously I have been killing myself (slightly dramatic) with exercise lately!! I've only taken off 2 days in the last 2 weeks, and maybe had 3 days tops at maintenance....some days even working out morning and night! BUT....I am letting it go....whether, it's muscle or I am just losing it in the right places??? I don't know, but whatever it is, it's working and I am going to just keep going!! I will not be ruled by the number on the scale!!!
But I do still care what number is on the scale so here's my weekly weigh in:

I've made it to Wednesday and I'm thinking Friday can not get here fast enough!! I don't know what's going on but suddenly the government is ordering parts like mad!! Either they're worried they're gonna lose what they have left in their budget and are trying to spend it all up or Obama gave them a few billion dollars to blow! We have not been this busy since the start of the Iraq war. Strange. I have been workig every weekend (Sat and Sunday this past weekend) and last night I stayed til 6 (But yes it is over time so I surely won't be complaining come pay day!
) I'm usually gone by 4. Hubby has been getting off early to be home when the boys get off the bus. And there is still no end in sight! My desk is still covered with work!
So why am I journaling today? Becasue all of the big bosses have decided to take today off for various reasons and I am taking a much needed breather!
On the weight loss front things are going well. I've been keeping things in check, exercise has been stellar! I went a little overboard yesterday with the snacking (dang cheeze its!), but still managed to have a nice deficit after 45 mins on my elliptical! I am having a bit of a going problem if you know what I mean...3 days apart!
Not very comfortable, I need to look into a regulatory type of supplement... Benefiber? Correctal? something along those lines.
Well ladies, hope you're all having a great week! I'm trying to catch up on journals today!
