Entry Back from Camp
Jul 05 2009 15:10

Hey there!

Back from Girl Scout Camp, 1 pound below when I left.  This is amazing because I usually come back with a few extra pounds.  At camp the food is high carb, high fat.  Fruit usually consists of bland apples and oranges, canned peaches, applesauce.  Veggies consist of corn, green beans. Salad is iceburg lettuce with ranch dressing.  I brought my own food to supplement.  Spinach leaves, romaine lettuce, cottage cheese,  frozen strawberries and blackberries, protein bars, protein water,  sugar free rice pudding.    I did eat some camp food, but I didn't have second and thirds.  For lunch I brought my greens and cottage cheese with me.  I even ate dessert when it was a fudge bar, only 130 cals.  But I did not eat cake and cookies.  Lots of activity, there always is.  But we drink lots of water.  I mentioned that usually when I go to camp I add a few pounds.  This usually drops off after a week or so on its own.

Friday night I went to a 40th birthday party for my SIL.  I did eat snacks and dips, but tried to concentrate on the fruit and veggies.  NO cake.  Very proud of myself.

Yesterday, still not logging but fairly good at watching cals.  At the local fireworks, I did eat a cherry bomb, only one though.  It was delicious.  I need the recipe for a later date.  Crumbled up chocolate cake, pressed over a cherry and iced with chocolate cream cheese icing.  Yummmy!  But I had only one.  This is a major accomplishment for me!   I was offered cookies and other sweets and wasn't interested, I even passed up the chips and salsa and just munched on grapes and strawberries.  No cal counting, but I am at the point that it does not take as much for me to feel full.   Plus I try to wait several minutes between each berry or grape so I don't end up over full.

Today, I went on an hour and half walk.  After camp walking, it just seemed natural.    Now to KEEP IT UP!  Yah Yah Yah........

Anyway, I hope eveyone had a fabulous 4th and had no accidents.

PS>   From Camp   STAND TALL.  SMILE TALL.  THINK TALL.  ALWAYS
