And the result?
- 4.5 lbs!
I'm thrilled! I continue positively towards my goal of 210 by New Year's. That means I only have to lose 10.5 lbs in a little under 2 months - which is very achievable. (~1.5lbs/week for 7 weeks). Hopefully I'm not aiming too high or too low... but since this is only my first week I won't really be able to tell until later on.
I've also been exercising every day... haven't missed a day since. I know there will be days I just can't do it, and even this past week I've felt like I wanted to skip it, but I don't find myself dreading hopping on the bike, and the time seems to fly.
I just hope my motivation sticks around until I can make a habit of it, and exercising is more engrained into my routine.
On the food side, I've been browsing this site and reading labels and looking at nutrition facts on websites to find food that I can keep in my arsenal so I don't find myself looking for something dangerous to snack on. I loaded the office fridge with some apples and baby carrots for snacks, as well as plenty of water and yogurt... right next to my co-worker's Mountain Dew ;) And where they keep their candy, I've stocked up some Kashi GoLean granola bars. I don't want to give myself any excuses.
I've been keeping boneless skinless chicken breast around to use on sandwiches, salads, or for dinner with some rice and veggies, which has been amazing. Convenience is important for me. If it's not readily available some days, I'll go for whatever's easiest. Which is why it's important for me to plan ahead all of my meals, and make sure I have something available when I get home from work.
I know I can do this - I have the motivation, the will power, and (now, thanks to CC) the tools to do it. So here's to my first week done, and to the many weeks (good and bad) to come!
4.5 down, 70.5 to go!
That's great Natalie!! keep up to good work! |
