vstar_pilot's Journal

Well, I've reached the end of January feeling rather accomplished, yet completely unaccomplished at the same time. Why, you ask? Well, I've started a new workout, and gotten most of the weight gain off in the first two weeks of the month. So... accomplishment.
However, and here's where the pox comes in, in the last two weeks I either haven't lost any weight OR I've gained two pounds. Seriously... a nearly 6' tall woman, eating 1600 calories and working out 3 times a week and I GAINED 2 POUNDS????!!!!! Not scientifically possible by the intake v. output plan.
If I hadn't gotten on the scale, I wouldn't know. Thus I'm not getting on the scale anymore. Maybe once a month. Or maybe once every 6 months... or maybe, as long as I'm working out 3 times a week and eating right, I'll just sell the scale to gypsies. No... I like gypsies, they never did anything to deserve that scale.
It is amazing how exercise in heavy amounts affects our bodies. I've confirmed that if you really strain your muscles, it causes you to gain weight. Boy can THAT be counterproductive. So... I'll go back to judging by size rather than weight. POO!!
Yay! A journal entry from my friend v*. Glad to hear you burned through those holiday pounds no problem. Sounds like you've been very diligent with the exercise and calories. I think if you're going to use a scale, you need to do it more often, so the ups and downs even out. If you only check once a month, and it happens to be a water retention day for some reason, you keep that number in your head forever unnecessarily. At least that's my 2 cent theory! Thanks again for your comments in my journal. I look forward to hearing from you now and then - you should journal more! |
