Well, it's official... I'm now old.
Today is my 42nd birthday and keep telling family and the few friends that its just another day, nothing to get all worked up over. For the 4th year in a row my mother has managed to ruin it for me, so I have gotten to the point of why bother celebrating? It's just another day. ::sigh::
Still struggling with the same few pounds that I have been for the last couple of weeks. I can get down to 396ish and then bounce up to about 401. It's like my body doesn't want to get far from that 400-lb mark - even though *I* want to get FAR from it - way below it to be honest. Why is my body working against me? I keep plugging away with the food and the exercising. I have even increased things in my workouts - either the # of reps, or the actual weight I'm using. I know I'm burning because I'm usually sweaty when I'm done. So what gives? I'm drinking my water (though I will admit that I didn't do as well for 2 of the days this last week - could that affect the weight loss THAT much?).
Anyways, hope you are all doing well and getting ready for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday (for those in the States). I am just hoping to get through it without gaining. If I can lose, then it's a bonus!
::hugs:: to all....

Willow! Please check your email :) I dunno! I had to lose and relose the first 15 lbs several times, and now I'm doing the same with the next 15 lbs!!! and twice a month, the body just does it's own thing!!! heh! I used to really fret about getting older... really kinda freaked when I turned 30... and anyway... one time i heard my mumsie say something that changed my thinking forever ~ thank god she was alive another year. Happy Birthday friend :) Enjoy life! The alternative ain't so great ;) Hangs streamers & blows up purple balloons!!! |
(Warming up my singing voice....la-la-la-la) Happy, happy birthday on this your special day. Happy, happy birthday that what I'm here to say. Happy, happy birthday may all your dreams come true Happy, happy birthday from all of us to you, Hey!! Hey, I wish I could say I was 42 again....turned 52 this April!!! Besides, age is a frame of mind, and you, Willow, are as young as you feel. Best wishes on your birthday. Keep up the good work on your weight loss. Several times I would get to a number and then jump back up. It will stablize sooner or later and then do it again in another 10 pounds. But, I promise you, it is coming off. Happy Turkey Day to you too!!! (Can't seem to think of a turkey song..ugh!!) Denise |
Happy Birthday!!! Youre doing marvelously... dont get discouraged {{hugs}} |
Thanks everyone! ::big hugs to all:: All your kind words and well wishes mean a *LOT*!! |
i echo what guycrazy said... the fact that you have made a choice to get your body in better shape and lose the weight. as dr. phil would say "you can't change what you don't acknowledge"... don't worry too much about the scale. mine was expensive ($90.00 CDN), and sometimes i think it is broken. then i realize that it depends on many things, like what you are wearing/not wearing, where you place your feet on the scale and it can even depend on where in your house you put it. i think i learned here on CC that if the ground is not totally level it can alter the readings. i started at 324 and while i still get on my scale periodically, i only record when the number is consistent (if i've seen the number 3 times), but more importantly, go by how your clothes fit you. do you wear any rings on your fingers. i still can't get all my rings on the right fingers (i wear four - two on each hand). keep pluggin' at it... once you start to lose, it will happen quickly. it is not uncommon for very large people to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. you're doing just fine - and by the way, i love how all your journals are in purple. that is my fave colour!! :D |
Happy brithday!! You are still young. Heck I turned 47 on Thursday. Hang tough there on the weight loss. I know this time of year is especially difficult to even maintain. |
Happy birthday.. |
