Entry Just a quick note...

Well, I managed to get the food stamps issue cleared up last Friday (yay!) and Kris got 2 cavities filled and a partial baby tooth pulled (not sure how or why it was still there - the dentist said there were no roots attached or anything, so painless and easy to remove)... he goes back in about a month to start getting his wisdom teeth pulled, which are giving him problems and coming in sideways.  He wants to get all 4 done on the same day - we will see if he can sit through it that long or not.  The assistant said for all 4 teeth it will take about 2-2.5 hours.  Yeah... we will see.  She said if he gets to a point where he can't go through anymore, they will just reschedule him for whatever teeth they didn't get done.  This is a new dentist for the kids, and I am really glad I found them.  They are the ONLY ones in the area that I could find that takes the state medical insurance.

We have a somewhat busy week coming up.  Kris' 18th b'day is tomorrow.  Hard to believe he is going to be 18!  Where does the time go??  I am starting to feel so old.  When did I get to the age that I can have an 18 year old kid?  ::scratches head::  I don't know.  He hasn't really told me that he wants anything, and usually when he does it's video games and stuff, so may just tell him to pick out a game and I'll pay for it.

We have an appointment on Wednesday for Wes at DSS to maybe get him some assistance.  When I spoke with my caseworker on Friday, we discovered he had removed him from my case because he thought he was an "able-bodied male".  When I told him that he is disabled and has a pending claim and a lawyer helping, he said he would put him back on my case (which he did) and made the appointment for this week and said maybe he can try and get him some assistance like medical, which would be a big help.  I know we have another appointment coming up within the week, too, and for the life of me I *can't* remember what it is!  ::thinks::

I am going to try and call my regular doctor today and get what I need to get done so I can start going back to the nutritionist.  I am also considering discussing my concerns about the endo. doctor's recommendation of a 1200 or less calorie diet.  I did the 1200 calories for about a week and a half to 2 weeks and gained 12 lbs.  When I went back to about 1700 calories, I was able to get rid of some of those 12 lbs.  This is really ridiculous.  ::takes a deep breath::  Ok... not gonna get into the rant....

I am patiently (?) waiting for my daughter to finish getting ready for school.  She is suppose to be there by 7:25/7:30 and I came out at 6:57 to her still snoozing away.  I kept telling her what the time was every 5 minutes and told her to get "her ass out of bed and get ready".  I finally ended up telling her that I wasn't writing her an excuse note and she can deal with the consequences.  It is now 8:26 AM and she isn't even dressed.  I don't know what the deal is, but she better get it straightened out.  (Of course, when I ask her what's going on, she just tells me "nothing".)

Here in Oklahoma we are in the midst of severe thunderstorms.  There have been some tornados in other parts of the state... nothing here in OKC except thunderboomers.  I love thunder storms - love feeling the electricity in the air!  However, not sure if we will lose power or not or what may happen so if you don't see me on later, its because of the storms.

Glad to hear some of the issues are getting resolved and that you have increased your cals (I was worried).

Stay safe in the stormy weather.

Thanks for your nice note!  I appreciate it.  You're doing really well!  It is hard to start over, but I know I can do it with people like you to motivate me.  :)
