Entry Keep it up, y'all!

I've been off CalorieCount for about a year now, and after visiting family and festering in 90 degree weather over the summer, I gained weight to 109 lbs :(

Right now I'm taking an aerobics class for school, and we have to keep a food and activities log to see how much calories we take in and how many we burn through daily exercise.

I was surprised to find that I only eat as many calories as CalorieCount tells me to eat to feel satiated (1,500 cals/day).

Mondays are the worst for me because over the weekends, I've picked up a nasty habit of going out and drinking (turning 21 has been very unhealthy for me) with friends, then have an hour of aerobics boot camp in the morning, I run to class, RUN to my next class which is ballroom dancing, then go home, shower, grab a bite, cram, and then go off to ballroom dancing again for two hours at night.

It's really difficult not to eat out, but because of rising college tuition and inflation in wheat and soy prices, I can't afford to eat out unless I want to literally starve for a week at the end of every month.

Mondays, I don't drink enough water because the cheapest bottled water on campus is $1.65 and the drinking fountains are broken, I don't eat enough, I'm stressed out because of this ridiculous back-to-back schedule, etc. But, I burn 800 calories from exercise alone. Enough complaining.

What I wanted to say before this rambling was that aerobics is really effective at strengthening the core if done with this mindset. At first I was put off by the preppy trance music and watching myself dancing around like a fool in the mirror with 30 sorority girls, but keeping my core tight and lifting with the core while doing Step aerobics, those leg ups, superman-jumping-jack-thingies, and slow pushups/situps has actually burned off some of my stubborn belly fat that even daily running and biking couldn't get rid of. Massaging away my sore abs, I've found muscles I didn't know existed before, and though these bumps of steel are still hidden away by a layer of fat, secretly, I feel like I have Usher-abs ;)

Anyhow, to my fellow devoted CalorieCounters, keep up the great work towards a healthy and fit lifestyle! It will pay off in the long run in that you will live longer and the quality of your life will improve drastically physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Wishing you Happiness,

Xylish
