The day I started counting calories again my Mom showed up with some pasta sauce made with venison instead of ground beef. I was very grateful, of course, but I thought "great, this is a challenge!".

None of the commercial pasta sauces in the database looked meaty enough but I found a suitable one in the Recipe Browser. Unfortunately it calls for a rather large serving (210 g) and I haven't used servings that size. And there seems to be no way to vary the serving size.

Today I had some in an open-faced sloppy joe, and used 120g of the stuff. A serving is about 300 calories and I can subtract 150 calories from my Burn Meter - that will be quite accurate. But doing it this way throws off the results for my nutritional analysis, which is annoying.

Is there another way to do this?

That is a peeve of mine also. Whenever I run into that problem I just figure out what the Calories are per gram (Total cals per serving / Grams per serving = Cals per gram). Then I just weigh my food in grams and multiply by the calories per gram and add it manually to my food log. Sounds like a lot more math than it is. And it won't analyze the nutrition, but at least you have an accurate calorie count.  

 

Well I can't really help you with this one, sorry.  But on a brighter note, that venison-pasta sauce sounds pretty darn good.  Was it?

Hi. When using the analyzer:

Enter your recipe in as 100 grams per serving.

Then when you eat a serving:

Enter the size/weight of serving (top box at 50 grams for example)

Click on values per serving instead of serving values

That way you can adjust the size of serving you eat anytime.
