Hi, I'm Tiffanie, I'm 24 yrs old. I'm a very proud USMC wife...my hubby has been in for 8 years and we've been married for 5 of them. We've been through 2 deployments thus far...the last one I was 6 months pregnant with my daughter when he left and had her while he was still deployed...he finally came home and got to meet her when she was 3 months old...it was wonderful! My son Kyler will be 2 on June 21 and my daughter Alannah is 6 months old...yah 17 months apart...keeps me super busy! They are my life and my whole world! I'm 5'8" and currently 185. I was 175lbs when I got married and in a size 10/12...before babies I got up to 220lbs on fertility drugs due to my PCOS but I lost it while my hubby was deployed the first time. Now 2 pregnancies later my goal for the end of the year is to get down to 155lbs because that's what is healthy for my height! I also am preparing to run my first 5k in Sept!!!

Tiffanie - Welcome from another SAHM

One of the toughest (and most enjoyable) jobs I have ever had.  If you are blessed enough to be able to stay at home to raise your children, then good for you.  My youngest is getting ready to enter preschool.  And with that, I am relieved.  Our household needs another income.  I am trying to find a job and it is hard right now.  I have been out of work for 4 years (by choice).  Employers will hire someone who have been out of work for 3 months before they would hire someone who has been out of work for 4 years.

But the choice was mine nonetheless.  It was determined that my son, my oldest, had a learning delay.  He could not talk or perform age appropriate functions when he was 4 years old.  After going through the testing, he was ranked at age 18 months.  It was also suspected that he had Asperger's Syndrome.  That was it.  I quit work and stayed at home to work with him.  This was after I had my daughter.  I returned to work after maternity leave just long enough for the insurance and personal leave, vacation leave and the like could catch up to the time that I was actually off.  Then I quit to help my son and to make sure that my daughter did not fall into the same trap.  At one point (my daughter was 14 months - my son was 5 years) that it was as if I had twins.  They were at the same development level.  Very trying.

My son is almost at the level that he is supposed to be.  He was held back last year to repeat kindergarten.  But in February, the school half promoted him to 1st grade.  He can do 1st grade math and reading.

I wish you success with your journey to a healthier lifestyle.  I will be praying for your husband's safe return.

Hello Tiffanie Laughing

I am also a SAHM and love my job. My littlest one is just now 5 mths old and he is a sweeties, learnining to crawl and teething.

My DH is in the USAF so we move alot, in fact we just moved into a new house on May 1, which has hampered my excersizing and my dieting, but I am saying at least I didn't gain anything lol.

I too am working towards my frist 5k, but mine won't be until Jan '10 because it has been a LONG time since I last ran.

Again, welcome and good luck on your healthier lifestyle changes.
