Vacation Bible School
Yesterday my church just got finished holding a vacation bible school for the kids in our community. Our theme this year took place in a swamp and it was about one of the coolest things I have ever seen. For our set we had a tree house with a working elevator, a dock, and even a life sized air plane we made, to just name a few. We started working on our set back in July and many of us were there early in the morning until well in the evening but it was worth it. We about 300 kids show up for VBS! All of us truely had a great time and we couldn't of done it without God being on our side. So do any of your churches hold vacation bible school and if they do I would love to hear about them.
how did you swing a working elevator ? that's amazing! And a life-size plane - your church must be huge! well I guess it would have to be to hold 300 kids!
Yes - we do one every year as well. They do take a lot of prep work - but as you said - well worth it. We have a lot of families that come for the last night and end up being a part of our church community! It's so awesome to see God working over time like through the kids!
What a blesing Vacation Bible School is for many children! Sometimes this is the only way the children come to a clearer understanding who Jesus is. I bet the workers were blessed as they saw the Lord working! ~Norma Jean
