Vacation eating

Quote  |  Reply

Well eating healthy at home is one thing, but on a 9 hour drive and eating out for a week is another thing.

I am going to pack a cooler with healthy snacks and I already bought a case of water.  I know there are going to be alot of temptations, and my mom has planned a dinner at a casino buffet.  Great mom, all you can eat buffet, a fat girls dream.  I will make sure to eat a salad first to help fill up.

Well I do have activities planned to keep me moving.  I will be clamming a couple of days and I will be going out ocean fishing a few times also. I know reeling those tuna in will be a workout.

I know it must be hard for everyone to stick to a diet on a vacation.  I am going to try to be smart about it.  If anyone has any suggestions or comments please feel free to reply.

I am also about to go on a vacation with a longer drive... I'm bringing most of my own food though(it's family, they understand what I'm trying to do-lose weight). Actually I dislike buffets... I'm about the only person I know who hates them. I don't like eatting in front of other people, or making trips up(also with people around) to get food.. even if it's just a salad... Plus, people let their children run loose and touch food... lol I don't want icky kid germs :)   Stay strong, you'll be alright. Stay away from foods you know will trigger other impulse eats!... Also, if you can find the info on CCs food data base, try figuring out ahead of time what everything will 'cost' you. :) Hope I helped some.

embalmer,

All good advice.  I hope you have fun on your trip!  I don't like buffets much either anymore, because I don't get my money's worth!!!!

I do go sometimes on steak night.  Nice big salad (bring my own dressing), broccoli and green beans or cabbage...lots of things to chose from.  Usually even a low cal dessert.
