vacation time -- any tips?
so, in about two weeks, my parents and i are heading off to the mayan riviera. and obviously, i'm super stoked for the whole "sun, sand, and surf" thing.
but i'm not so excited for the food choices at the resort. any tips?
i don't want to fanatically obsess over it, so i'm not planning on excessively counting the cals while i'm there, but i do want to be able to keep a bit of an eye on what goes in, you know.
THANK YOU in advance!
I'm in the same boat...my boyfriend and I are leaving on a Caribbean cruise in 8 days. My plan is to just enjoy myself and indulge a bit, but just try not to go overboard. Everything in moderation! I think I will try to eat a healthy breakfast.....stick with cereal, oatmeal, fruit, etc, a light lunch and then eat a nice dinner. And, I will allow myself to enjoy a few desserts too.....it's a vacation, for gods sake! :)
Have fun on your vacay!
Have fun!
Eat more fresh fuits, veggies and salads. Try to stay away from anything deep fried. But dont forget you ARE on holidays..... enjoy it!
I'm also going on vacation soon (Disney) and I plan on eating whatever I want. I already know of so many things I'm going to eat that aren't great for me like : Gierdelles ice cream parlor, Wetzels Pretzels and Casey's at the Magic Kingdom. It's my yearly vacation and I refuse to stress over that stuff. When I come back I'll get back on track, but while I'm there it's whatever I want.
Good Luck and remember to Have fun, it is a vacation after all.
Yeah, I would take advantage of the fresh fruits available...then again, I love fruit anyway so no problem there.
I'm leaving for my honeymoon on Monday and since I'll be exercising like crazy, I'm not too concerned about calories. I'll tackle it when I get home.
Just busy yourself and go swimming and hiking and walking and you'll be all right.
My boyfriend and I are going to Madrid in March. I'm working really hard to lose beforehand but I REALLY want to enjoy the vacation and not resent the yummy tapas (and wine!!!) we will be eating/drinking. I figure I'll be more active during the day anyway walking around the city than I would at home. I definitely don't want to be stressing about food or weight during my vacation.
ooh, it sounds like you're all going on some pretty awesome vacations...
i'm definitely planning on eating all the fruit and veg i can, especially the yummy exotic kind that is not particularily in season here!
i'm pretty sure they have some excellent exercise facilities, too, so i'm sure i'll hit them up a few times and try some shiny machines!
thank you all for the advice, t'is much appreciated!
