In about 2 weeks I'm leaving for Europe. (for about 5 weeks)
This is sort of a vague topic, but can anyone give suggestions on how to make healthy choices while you're away from home?
I know that we are staying in different hotels, so we will be eating out quite frequently.
Just enjoy. You will be walking a lot and portions are not as huge as here. When I was there for two and a half weeks I lost weight, and I was enjoying Pizza, beer, etc. :)

So jealous that you are going to Europe for 5 weeks! What cities are you going to?
I would agree with umneydurak and say just eat what you want. You will be doing a lot of sightseeing and walking around so you won't have to worry too much about calories. I would also recommend trying different countries' specialities -- I had fabulous tapas in Barcelona and delicious pizza/pasta in Italy (but the food in London is pretty bland)! Don't eat fried food for every meal and you will be fine.
Omg, thanks lol. That's exactly what I was thinking.
We are DEFINITELY doing hardcore walking ^.^
I appreciate the advice (and any other piece of advice that comes along) :}

@umneydurak: You're definitely right about portion sizes :P
@valpal: This time I'm going to London, eheh. I've heard of the traditional "fry" and trust me, that is not even an option!
I just came back from vacation for 5 days where I had no scale whatsover... I usually weight myself every other day or so to keep in check, so I was freaking out. Especially when the vacation was with my family, who love using lots of butter in their cooking, I can't stand butter, never have been able to, and are pretty sedentary, quite opposite of me.
Pretty much, its balance. I was drinking everyday, I cut back on my workouts (I was at the ocean so I ran like 3 days I was there on the beach, but its no where near what I would normally do at the gym at home, maybe 30 minutes of light running where I normally do an hour to 75 minutes of intense cardio and a 15 minute weight circuit). But we walked a lot around the beach. We were outside a lot, and although I induldged, (yummy omlettes for breakfast pretty much every morning, fresh seafood with oil, steaks, burgers, fajitas, brownies, Ben and Jerry's (not just a little I mean a waffle cone full), plus it was around my birthday so tiramisu, snacks on the beach like chips which I normally never eat and cocktails when we went out to eat). But I kept my portion sizes reasonable (well not with that waffle cone or the cocktails), but also made sure I included fresh fruit and vegetables too! I came back from vacation and actually lost 2 pounds!
Enjoy the time you're in Europe!! I would die to go on vacation like that. This recent one was the first vacation I had been on since I was eleven, and im 19 now. Cool. So HAVE FUN!! ENJOY THE SITES AND SOUNDS!! ESPECIALLY TAPAS... I LOVE TAPAS!
