Vanilla or chocolate whey protein...................
I am going to invest in some whey protein tomorrow and I was wondering which flavour people prefer........so, which is better tasting vanilla or chocolate???
Also, does anyone mix their protein with water alone??
I've had both and chocolate is WAY better. Love it. I've never heard of people mixing the chocolate whey with water.
Chocolate is great as a smoothie with strawberries and a banana, or with 8 oz of skim milk. Tastes like chocolate milk only much better for you (little harder to get it to dissolve, though).
I really like the vanilla because if I feel like pumpkin I add that and if I feel like chocolate I add Cocoa powder. It gives me more options on flavors.
The brand I get has the flavor "double chocolate", and I mix it with water - I'm usually trying to gulp it down while we cook dinner, so I don't need it to be delicious, just not repulsive.

Depends on which flavor you like better. If you had to choose between chocolate and vanilla ice cream which one would you pick?
I like the double chocolate whey powder, and I add it to light chocolate soy milk. I really llike chocolate.
Chocolate, mixed in skim milk. I use the Body Fortress brand from wally world. 1 scoop in a 24-ounce tumbler of skim milk after a hard ride => 50g of protein, 900mg of calcium, at a cost of 510 kCal. That's pretty efficient. Generally, only lean meat does better.
Unflavored whey or rice protein powder works better in smoothies, I think. I toss some fruit, a little skim milk, a couple of tbsp of the powder, a sugar-free yogurt, and some ice cubes into a blender and have at it. I might also add a dollup of half and half, but not always.

I agree here - Vanilla is nice bc you can quite simply turn it into anything - pumpkin, coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, fruit-smoothie, etc...
Chocolate is great too but you get a little limited sometimes :/
This might sound a little weird -- as I said above I use double chocolate protein powder mixed into light chocolate soy milk.
Well, sometimes I add a scoop of my orange metamucil to it. It gives it a chocolate-orange flavor that is oddly satisfying... it also makes it a bit thicker like a shake.
Every single brand of protein tastes different, and different companies have better chocolate or vanillas. Right now I'm loving Optimum Nutritions 100% Whey Gold, and they have 2 different vanillas and several different chocolates. I LOVE the French Vanilla Creame, the CHocolate Malt, the Chocolate Mint, the Cookies and Cream and the Banana. I did NOT like the extreme Milk Chocolate or the Double Rich Chocolate or the Vanilla Ice Cream. So the questions kinda hard. I would personally order samples of any protein first, try them and then purchase it.
I also mix with water...the protein is 120 calories, why add another 80+ for milk? Or if I like it creamier, I'll use about 5 oz water 3 oz milk, so it only adds about 30 calories.
I use Designer Whey, French Vanilla flavor and I usualy mix it in orange juice. Really good!
