The Vegan, A Mostly Illogical Creature...

So i have to ask how does a vegan justify eatting plats?  Now from my understanding a vegan is just someone who refuses to eat/use any product that comes from an animal, but if you take it further and ask why the answer tends to be some sort of pain caused to the animal or the value of life, so comendable eh?  A plant is also a living thing, they can even react to touch (though its near unoticable, but still happens)!  So how can an "enviormental warrior" deystroy the life of a living thing just to satisfy its own means for survival? I must know!

Im honestly curious, because when someone says they dont wish to cause pain to any living thing, they cant explain this.  So i want one explanation for it.

Serious answerthe question if you have the answer, i haven't meet one person to justify it with other than, "well i do have to eat too..." which isn't morally justified.

I remember my biology teacher in high school talked about a study done on plants. They found that when a plant, veggie or flower etc was cut it sent out shockwaves like it was screaming.

Lets bow our heads in a moment of silence for the salad I had for lunch.

See more proof!  So if the value of life is held at the same level for all living beings, how is this justified?

Well i was thinking maybe they could find some nutrients in dirt or compost... i mean plants do it.    But i suppose if they ate each other... i dunno you'd think that would be determental to "the cause".

Just between class, actually my next class is Enviormental Ethics... ha.  So if i geneticly egineered an animal to have no nervous system you'd eat it?

Nope, but then again I don't eat frankenfood... whether it's a grain, flesh, veggie, or fruit.

Well i'd say your kind would need a better reason not to eat plants then, or at leat admit you do kill living things in order to survive!

Actually, there are vegans who take things a step further.  They are called fruititarians, and they only eat foods that plants drop naturally, like fruits and nuts.  They don't eat anything that requires killing a plant, or cutting off any part of it.  I've only met two fruititarians in all my years of vegetarianism, and both of them were intensely self-righteous and had horrifying dental problems.  

I'm not vegan, but my justification/explanation for what fits into my diet and what doesn't is that I don't eat anything that's ever had a butthole.  

When I cut into a nice fresh salad I like to imagine all the little veggies screaming in pain....

Save the plants, eat a cow!!!!!
