Maybe just say if you are vegan, for how long, and why you made the choice?
I've been vegan for 5 years... made the choice for only ethical reasons (but now it's ethics and health). I went cold turkey (no pun intended) from eating meat to being vegan....
I'm Bri, 17 years old, and have been vegan for about 7 and a half months now. I made the switch for ethical, environmental, and health reasons.
I've been vegan for 3 years and 3 months, but who's counting?
I became vegan for ethical reasons. Funny thing is, my adult daughter and I became vegan at about the same time, and we hadn't discussed it with each other at all.
I've been vegan for the past few days. Why? Because I'm poor. Haha. Yay peanut butter!
hi it's me..Julia,
and i'm new here.
i've been a vegan for about 5 years. it started at weight watchers when they came out with the core program.i discovered i was eating more whole "core" foods, and less me*t. grains, legumes and such. i soon started reading on the subject and was appalled by how the industry treats other living breathing beings.and the cr*p they inject into the animals, that we inturn injest. what started as a health choice has become ethical, moral and a spiritual choice.
thanx..Blessed Be :)
I'm Matt, 18 years old and have been vegan for about 7 months. I choose this lifestyle for the animals, health, and fitness. I actually made the switch on Christmas day and have felt better everyday since, ill never go back. GO VEGAN AND NO ONE GETS HURT.![]()
i have been a born-again vegan for about 10 weeks now. still very new to the whole thing - but I've been loving every minute of it! i have always been super healthy - but i got started mainly to be more green, reduce my footprint and of course for the animals!
i wasnt aware of all of the crazy health benefits i was signing myself up for. i sleep much better, my taste buds are alive, i have endless amounts of energy, my headaches have disappeared, i am in a great mood all day, and i am only hungry at meal time. its great! i would suggest it to anyone that is considering it as a new lifestyle.
one thing i would recommend to a vegan who needs a pick-me-up are Bumble Bars. they are the greatest vegan energy bars. super yummy! if I'm ever craving something sweet i pick up a chocolate bumble bar for a snack - they are great!
9 months vegan, forevermore. former pescatarian in sushi form, lactose intolerant and i think it's unnatural for humans to consume dairy.
mostly for health benefits. ethical reasons. i have vintage leather bags. i'm not going quite that far.
I was vegan for two years before meeting my husband and when we met it all went out the window, but I have been doing it (like you say cold turkey!) again for about a month now, It makes me feel a lot better, for ethical and physical reasons, and I dont want to go into detail but my digestion has never been better. The most annoying thing about switching to vegan is that people dont understand (ie oh you just woke up and decided to stop eating everything) a change has to start somewhere right? My guess is it isnt very good for anyone to do something daily that dosnt fit with what they think is right :)
I'm a brand new vegan! Only been about two months, but I am loving vegan life. I was vegetarian for over a year beforehand and I made the switch mostly because I always knew I would, and then I finally sucked it up and read the info that I knew would automatcially convert me (i.e. meat/dairy factory statistics/accounts/general disgusting/awful-ness).
I believe most people tend to avoid reading/educating themselves about these things because it is way easier not to be vegan - and if people are truly indifferent to animal cruelty, they just would rather not accept what eating animal products means for their health. I respect my body too much to keep on with a way of life that harms it. I am a vegan because I believe it to be ethical, but the health benefits alone are worth it!
Go vegans!
I'm vegan and loving it ^_^
I have been a vegetarian for about 6 months and am currently transitioning into being vegan. I am almost 100% but am slowly learning that milk products are hidden in a lot of things..like for instance I was making vegan burritos and added taco seasoning..BEFORE reading the package.. and i was shocked that it has milk product in it. I feel guilty when I accidently cheat. But I also feel like a hypocrite b/c I work at Ruby Tuesday. It is hard to serve meat when I don't eat it. I get grossed out but in Michigan you take any job you can get. People at work laugh at me all the time when I say i'm transitioning into veganism. I just smile and laugh it off but it gets irritating. LIke I don't preach to people about how the should be vegan or vegetarian but they always seem to have the need to give me their two cents of input. "how do you get protein?" that is my favorite question..people must really ignore food labels...ahhh that is my rant for now...i would like some vegan friends since I currently don't have any. So anyone can add me if they wish ![]()
I am vegan! I love Isa Chandra Moskowitz and recommend her books to all. HORRAY for Vegan Pad Thai!
vegetarian for a year and a half.
vegan for 3 monthes.
Ethnic and Health reasons.
I want to look good to promote being a vegan.
And being a vegan is more hardcore then vegetarian and people take the issue a little more sersiously when I tell them about it.

Ahh. I like finding vegan men.
Usually all the boys I talk to are really resistent about it.
Hi everyone :)
I'm Ella, sixteen, pretty new to being vegan - about two months now, I think?
I also only went vegetarian this year but I'd done it before and stopped, plus I never really liked meat anyway so I rarely ate it. I guess I made the switch for ethical and health reasons... I had an eating disorder for three years and was sick of being out of control so now I eat as healthy and pure as possible - that means plant-based foods.
Plus I love animals and don't want to contribute to the immense suffering they endure at the hands of humans every single day. And call me crazy, but I also think that drinking/eating products produced by animals (honey, milk, eggs etc) is unethical because it's not ours. It's stealing, in a way. Those things belong to the animals who made them :)
My partner has been vegan for many years. She is introducing me to all new foods.
